Hi!!

Just wondering if anyone can recommend any good onsite hotels at Universal Studios. We will be staying here for a few days and travelling with a 5 year old boy.

I had seen that Lowes offers a kids suite in the theme of Jurassic Park - has anyone stayed there before?

Thanks!!!

We stayed at hard rock hotel. Lots of benefits to this hotel.
5-10m to the parks
Big rooms ( standard queens x2 plus fold out)
Great pool and waterslide for all
Top music playing most of the time (even underwater in pool)
As a guest front of the line passes to both parks.

We stayed 3 nights in oct 11

Thanks so much. That helps a lot!

We loved the Hard Rock Hotel. We stayed last September and lashed out for concierge level. The kids were completely taken with the concept of snacks and drinks on tap and deemed it their favorite hotel of the 8 we stayed in on our holiday. This was high praise given we also Stayed at the Beach Club at Disney as well as an amazing old palace in Venice.
The lobby has free wi fi and the music selection was a treat.

Great thanks for the info! We are also staying at the Beach Club - what type of room did you stay in there?? We only got a standard room but wondering if i should pay the extra for pool view...

we were at the royal pacific resort -- great family resort & slightly cheaper than hard rock, with great asian-inspired food, which was great for us as we prefer to eat healthy as much as possible. we loved their service, booked a regular room (2 x queen beds) but were given 5 star service at every step along the way.

we also saw the themed rooms, but decided to put the money into souvenirs/experiences and just paid for the regular room, which at a 5 star resort is pretty nice anyways :)

front of the line passes come with your hotel room key, no matter which on-site hotel you stay at... i guess it really comes down to preferences in decor/food etc. we found royal pacific to be really close by... 2 min boat ride, or a 5 min walk to the parks (most people we saw took the boats or little rickshaw type rides) to citywalk, then walked the 30 seconds or so through citywalk into the parks.

We stayed in garden view and I thought it was lovely. We looked out on a little courtyard. I recommend saving money and forgetting about the pool view - the pool is a little noisy at bedtime. We were very close to it and although the boys eyes were dropping out of their heads with tiredness, they wanted to go and swim.

We are planning on booking a night at a Universal Hotel just for the FOTL passes and having somewhere to go back to for the afternoon to relax and use the pool. With the price of the FOTL passes separately for all of us for two days, we would save money with the hotel room.
Can anyone tell me which is the closest to the park? I'm thinking its the RP. Or is there another reason we should choose one of the others.

The Hard Rock is easily the closest - slap bang between the entrances of boh parks and a few minutes walk to either.
It is easily a 10 min walk from RPR to IOA and double that to Universal Studios.

Thanks for the reply although it was a few days ago now. I'm only just getting back here.
10 minutes walk to the parks is not too bad. I might have a look at them all and go for the one with the nicest pool. Really thats all we will be using it for apart from the FOTL passes.

Have stayed at both hard rock and royal pacific. Both great hotels with big rooms.
Hard rock is definitely closer to universal but you have to walk across citywalk to get to ISlands of adventure so maybe the same. We r going back in dec and have chosen to book royal pacific again and save a few bucks.

Btw. Also stayed at beach club. Had a great room. Just down the back stairs and a 2 minute walk to epcot but the kicker was it was agarden view and we had a great view of the fireworks from our balcony. Ill try to find the room number.

I've also stayed at the Beach Club and whilst it has the best location we actually had the smallest room I've ever had in a disney hotel. The pool which is shared with Yacht is fabulous. Heaps of kids stay here so it is a bit noisy and the carpet was a bit worn - and it is charming and good fun and location location location
