Hotels around Heathrow

I will beflying with Virgin this year for the first time. As its a long drive down to Heathrow from home I was thinking about travelling the day before and finding some where to stay overnight. Any recomendations on how to do it cheap?

Ive booked into Le Meridien at Heathrow for next Feb. It cost around £68, thats for two of us without parking. A few people on here recommended it to us Le Meridien

We booked the Holiday Inn Ariel in Feb.
It cost £68 with 15 days parking.
it was you r standard Holiday Inn Room, which is clean and has all the mod cons.
Transfers to the terminal, i think cost £3 each way per person.

Pemier Lodge (www.premierlodge.co.uk) are opening a new one at Heathrow in June and have a promotional offer of some rooms at £50 a night until the end of August.

They are similar, but probably slightly better than Travel Inn and Travelodge.
