Hi everyone. Does anyone have a list or know of the hotels off property around Downtown Disney? My DD wants to stay at one that is accessible to Downtown Disney by foot. They will stay there one night after their 7 day cruise. Thanks for any suggestions! Sandy

The Hilton is about the closest. Many of these hotels are available on Priceline cheap...but if you list Lake Buena Vista area, you can also get a place off Disney property....so that wouldn't work to assure walking distance.

I think mousesavers.com has a special going now for the Hotel Royal Plaza which is walking distance to both Downtown Disney and the Goodings shopping center (restaurants, etc.)

I booked the Radisson Maingate, got a great deal that included the room and full breakfast for the four of us. We'll have a rental car so we didn't need to be able to walk to DD, but that's where we'll be spending Saturday after the cruise -- either hanging at the Raddisson's pool and then dinner/shopping at DD or going to Disney Quest and then the dinner/shopping! I can't wait for this trip!!!! :hyper:

We are booked the day before our Thanksgiving cruise at the Grovensnor. It was only $89 nite and is walking distance. They also have a charactor breakfast Sat AM.

I got the Holiday Inn from Priceline for $30/night. We're staying there for two nights before our cruise. It used to be the Courtyard Marriott. I haven't heard any bad things about it so she might want to look into it.

Bostonlass - How did you book that hotel on priceline? What location did you choose to get a Disney Hotel? What were the hints that it was on the Disney property?

I believe I selected "Disney World Vicinity" and bid on a 2 1/2 star hotel. I did this twice, actually. First time I booked the wrong date and I only found out because I had called the hotel to ask them a question and they said I was a "no show". :( Rebooked it for the right date (double and triple checked it) and got the same hotel again.

I've done a little more research and I guess the best place to be is in the tower. Apparently there are two buildings and the other building (not the tower) isn't that great, i.e. mold and mildew problems. I called yesterday and the woman at the front desk said that all I have to do is call one day ahead and request a tower room and I'll get it. Here's hoping! I guess you can see the fireworks from some of the tower rooms.

Back in June we stayed at the Hotel Royal Plaza for one night before checking into the Yacht Club. We thought it was a dump. I wouldn't stay there again. I went through Priceline and got the Hilton and when we checked in around midnight they claimed because the hotel was under renovation they had no rooms left, so they sent us over the the Hotel Royal Plaza instead. The Hilton looked pretty nice, however we never got beyond the lobby!! The Hilton said our stay was free and that we would receive a refund on our credit card. We finally did receive the refund after contacting Priceline.

There are many nice hotles in the downtown disney area.

If you go to mousesavers.com and read where you can find information on priceline they will tell you how to book several of these hotles at a very very very very good price.

These hotles apparently use priceline to fill up there hotles.

We have stayed there several time.

One warning, although these are nice hotles often they seem to be more buisness oriented. There are not nearly as kid friendly as the disney hotles. My DW and I like these but my kids really do not like these hotels as much as the disney resorts.

I stayed in the Grovensnor for a conference and there is a "tower" situation too (two types of rooms)- careful - I thought my outrageously $$ room (not in the tower) was not worth much.
