Hi there... I am travelling to Anaheim on Business and I am looking for a decent hotel close to the Anaheim convention center... I couln't think of a better place to ask than here!!!

I will not have time to visit Disney Land (plus it would be TOO sad to go with out my fiance:sad1: ) so I would like something that is not too close to Disney Land that it makes me depressed!! I don't know if there are bad areas there but I would like a decent hotel! Any ideas?? Thanks!

Along Convention Way, which is where the convention centre is, you will find a lot of hotel choices, to name a few:

1. Anaheim Marriott
2. Anaheim Hilton
3. Clarion
4. Sheraton Park
5. Annabella (not on Convention Way, but short walking distance to the convention centre)

We really liked the Anaheim Marriott and would stay there again if we can get a good rate. It is across the street from the convention centre. We've also stayed at the Anaheim Hilton, next to the convention centre and did not like it as much. Tho it has a spectacular lobby, the rooms are older and are in need of a reno.

I've been to a couple of conventions there and have always found the area safe.

There isn't too much of a price range- it's not all that important how much it is. I'd like to be as close to the convention center as possible- the only other problem is that many of the hotels are booked- I can't get the Hilton or the Marriot. I would like to feel comfortable in the hotel- is around the convention center a nice area?? Thanks!

If you can't get the Marriott or the Hilton, try the Sheraton Park. It is next door to the Hilton, across the street from the Marriott. Convention Way is a nice, safe block.

The Hilton at the Convention Center is great. In fact, the last 2 conventions I've attended that were billed as "convention at the Anaheim Convention Center" actually held all of their meetings & meals at the Hilton. We've stayed at the Desert Palms (across the street from the Convention Center) before to save a little money during convention so that we could throw in an afternoon at DL. The Hilton had a DL desk in the lobby, and we found out at our convention that we could purchase half day tickets for DL at the convention for half of the full day admission price. :woohoo:

We just stayed at the Hilton for 4 nights and I won't stay there again, the rooms were too motelish for my taste. I have stayed at the marriot several times and would reccommend that.

I thought that about the Hilton too. Though the lobby, meeting rooms, and ballroom was deceptively lavish and elegant looking, the hotel standard rooms were so outdated and was no better than a cheap motel. The bathroom, which was so so small, was tiled all over, and the disgusting part was that the grout was terribly stained and dirty. A vent above the bathtub kept dripping water down. A brown liquid kept seeping up from the floor tile. When we asked to change rooms, we were denied by Front Desk, as they said that "all the rooms were the same". Fortunately, it was only a 3-night stay.
