Hi! - WDW vets and Florida residents here, looking to plan our first trip to DL.
We are a family of 5 and plan on staying a full week in early June, doing DL, DCA, Knotts Berry Farm, and LegoLand.
I would really prefer we stay in a hotel with a separate area for the kids.
We have 2 DS, 10 and 7, and one DD, 4.
Kids area would need to have bunk beds and a pull-out sofa or daybed.
I found the Best Western Raffles that has rooms like this, but after closely investigating its "within walking distance" claim, I found that the hotel is 2.5 miles from the pedestrian entrance to DL.
There's no way we could walk that every day.
There are shuttles available (at a cost), but we'd rather walk if possible.
So - Here's my question ...
Are there any hotels across from DL (on Harbor Blvd.) that have 2 room kids suites?
If you've stayed in a hotel that has rooms like this, I'd love to hear about it.
Thanks!

Here is one that is on the corner of Harbor and Katella, about a 10-15 minute walk to the front entrance. http://www.portofinoinnanaheim.com/
I have not stayed there but have friends who did and they liked it quite a bit. As far as I know the places along Harbor near the crosswalk to the parks do not have kids suites or rooms with bunks. There are places with seperate small parlors or mini suites (don't close off from the rest of the room) but I think the Portofino Inn is more what you are looking for.
Here is a map. Portofino is number 30.

Thanks, daannzzz! I had checked the web pages for all the hotels across from DL on Harbor Blvd. and hadn't found any that offered what I was looking for. Looks like we'll have to take the shuttle to stay at a hotel with a Kids Suite. We'll check out the Portofino Inn. I appreciate your insight!

The Residence Inn in Garden Grove also has those kinds of rooms. They use a private shuttle, in cooperation with another few hotels in the area, and it's free. Runs every half hour. I just stayed at the hotel last week, in a 2 room/2 bath suite. Very nice.

degrapevine-We've stayed at the Desert Inn and Suites. I know some people here have posted that they didn't like it. We love it for the location and the price. Of course it's no 4 star hotel. We like it because it has a parlor you can close the door and be away from that noise while the kids are sleeping. I think they have rooms there that are like one parlor suite and another room that connect. It doesn't have a bunk bed but you'd have 4 twins between the 2 rooms plus a sofa bed. I don't know if I would let my kids sleep on that sofa bed though. It is almost the closest you can get to that crosswalk to the main entrance. The other close hotel is the Best Western Park Place Inn. Never stayed there but the reviews are good.

Hi. You might conside the Hyatt which is about 2 miles south on Harbor in Garden Grove. It's kids suites are great (two rooms separated by french doors; kids side has TV, small table, single pull out sofa and bunks; parents room has TV and comfy King bed) and the bus service is FREE (not ART which costs $3 per adult per day), reliable and timely. There are several restaurants nearby and even though it is 2 miles away...I find it very convenient to Disneyland and good for traveling with a family. Hope this helps a little. Good Luck.
