Hotel with good suites/room service?

Wife and I are planning a trip to DW for the summer. She has some health problems that will probably have her staying in the room for most of the trip - but there's a chance she will visit parks for a couple days (weeklong trip).

So my priorities:
- Need a bedroom with a separate parlor that can close off, i.e. suite or villa
- Need access to in-room dining
- Must be reasonably quiet
- Close (~5 min) to Disney - we will rent a car
- We don't use pools/other on-site activities
- Prefer on-site around Epcot, but not a big deal

At first I thought about a local vacation home - but we wouldn't have access to room-service, which is a requirement. Are there good options for food delivery at these places?

Other option is a Disney villa. 1-bedroom, with the 4/3 deal, runs about $3200 with dining/tickets included. I'm comfortable with that price range. Could consider doing two connecting rooms (make-shift suite) at the Grand Floridian, but we might lose some bang-for-buck.

I'm not that impressed with the quality I've seen of the villas - so I'm curious if there are nicer suites available off-site for comparable pricing. High-quality room-service is also important, since she'll probably be using that for most meals.

Anybody have recommendations for good hotels with suites, and excellent room-service, available within about a 5 minute drive? I don't care about a "resort" feel. I looked at the Gaylord Palms, and the rooms don't seem to be anything special - looks like you're paying for the environment (which is pretty cool, I'll admit).

I called around for suite prices at a few of the local hotels, and the rack rates are something like $800-900 a night (!?!?). One of the hotels said they had approval for a "special" rate of 50% off when I tried to get off the phone, so perhaps they like to wheel and deal. That's still more expensive than Disney's 1-bedroom Villas, which is surprising.

Appreciate any suggestions.

you need to visit the discount sites

www.travelzoo.com

houses and condo - but don't count on room service.
www.vrbo.com

would go with BCV - then you get walking to Epcot plus room service. Although there have been noise complaints about BCV.

BWV would work too - although it is further from Epcot.

this is nice villa but don't count on room service.

since you are getting a villa why don't you just go to the grocery store and get some items to kept in the refrigerator.

all the DVC resorts have some grocery items in their gift shops.

for cheap go offsite.
www.wegoshop.com

will get exactly what you want - just give them a list (include as much detail as possible)]

also SSR and OKW despite being a DVC resort - do no have room service.

the reason Disney is a good bargin is buy 4 get 3 free deals - that is a great bargin

remember that room service at Disney is expensive - it will cost you 2 ts. buying groceries is cheaper.

May I suggest the WDW Swan or Dolphin. Both hotels have suites, they offer room service, they have a beautiful pool area and many times you can get discounts. If either of you are Teacher/Govt Employee/Nurse you can get nice suites at a great rate.
