Has anyone had a good experience with a hotel that had shuttle service to both Disney and Universal Parks? I found several on-line. We always stayed on-site at Disney in the past. We will not have a car, so we will be relying on the shuttle the whole trip.

The hotel shuttles I looked at had seriously limited schedules. I would think you might bump down a notch on hotel cost and use the savings to just rent a car. You'll have to pay for parking at the parks, but those schedules could really throw a kink in your plans.

I agree very limited bus to both. I stay on Diseny property then just need to drive to Universal.:):)

I was worried about the limiting schedule. It's just that it myself and my 9 year old daughter. I hate driving in an area that I don't know - so I was trying to avoid the rental car. I might look into Mears transportation to get from Disney to Universal.

How about staying at 2 different hotels for your trip, one for your Disney part and one for your Universal part? And just take a taxi when you switch.

How staying at DD hotel for WDW stay. Onsite US or offsite that really closet is within walking distance.

I can definitely understand why you don't want to hassle with a car. They get really expensive in Orlando - easily over $50/day plus gas and parking.

I don't agree with most people's comments about the shuttles being inconvenient....you just have to plan accordingly to catch the right bus. Once you're on Disney property you can use their transportation to hop parks - so just knowing when to start and finish the day is easy enough.

One thing you'll want to note, is that unless you're staying at a Disney-owned property, there are no free shuttles to the various Walt Disney World and Universal Studios-area hotels from the airport (MCO or SFB). So, to save a few bucks (and avoid the hassles of Orlando's local bus service LYNX), you should book your Orlando hotel shuttle in advance.

You can compare rates among more than 30 companies, including Mears (the biggest) online at www.OrlandoHotelShuttles.com and then book the best deal for you and your daughter.

Have a fun trip!!!:worship::cool1:

I'm not sure of you budget...but have you looked at the value hotels on-site?

Royal Parc (formally Quality Suites) and Suites at Old Town and Serelago. All these are next to each other. I stayed at the first 2 and liked the stays very much.
