I'm thinking of booking a four day trip for myself and my daughter to Disneyland! We've been to WDW a few times but I'd like to try DL this time. She's 9 and LOVES the pools almost more than anything else so I'm wondering which resort would have a great pool area and be close to the parks? I'm a complete newbie when it comes to DL so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

#7 Camelot Inn

Top 4 have slides and top 5 have children pools and or splash play areas. #6 huge pool. #7 rooftop with fireworks view.

We are staying at the Howard Johnson (Hojo) in March and I specifically booked that hotel for the pool area for my 7yo son. He is going to LOVE it! THey have pictures on their website if you google "hojo anaheim"

What does she like in a pool?

If she's all about *swimming*, the pirate water play area at hojo won't help, because the pool-for-swimming isn't IN that area. It's a lovely, beautiful, luscious area and it's the first place DS swam without someone touching him (sigh), but it's not in the pirate play area.

Is the best I can do. I think the rest are not up to what I would say nice.

The Grand has nice pool area with smaller water slides for the children. The Disney hotel has the new pools and larger water slides. The Grand and Disney hotels have lilfeguards and complimetary towel service. Go to the top of page and click on "Resorts", then the hotels to look at the pictures. My wife and children love the pool area at DH. Several others have posted good reviews for the facilities at Hojo's but, have not used em myself.....Relax and have FUN:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Hi Lablady We have two pools on our property, a regular swimming pool and our Castaway Cove water park. This has slides, water toys, and a big dump bucket that many kids love. It is complementary for our guests and is open all year long. Here is a link to show you more about our pools, http://www.hojoanaheim.com/what-you-get/castaway-cove.

Hope this helps,
-Kriss :)

Thanks for all your help! I feel so lost here! It's bizarre, after all the times that we've been to WDW, to feel like I don't know what I'm doing. I really want to stay at the Disneyland Hotel, but when comparing the prices, I can save a BUNCH of money by staying at the Howard Johnson's. I watched all their cute videos and it looks like a nice place. Has it been renovated since the videos?

Those videos are pretty up to date, but we have recently added all new linens and carpets in our Deluxe and Premium rooms. Our Standard Queen rooms have had the biggest renovation so far. Most of these rooms face the highway, so you could hear the highway nose, but we added sound proof windows to all of these rooms, except the top floor. These rooms are very nice and quiet now! :)
