Hotel Visitors???

We will be staying at the WL. My parents will be visiting with us while we are there- not staying overnight, but will be with us at the parks during the day and will rest there with us in the afternoons while our kids nap. Do I need a special pass for them? Can they park at the lodge or do they have to go to a park and then come to the lodge?

Welcome to the DIS, ptslp!

I would suggest telling guest services that your parents will be visiting you for a day, and asking if you can have a parking pass for them for that day. It shouldn't be a problem.

When we stayed last October, my parents came to visit a couple of times with no problem. I didn't pre-arrange anything. They just told the guard who they were visiting and were given a pass to park in the lot.

Yeah, same here...my mother came to visit us during our stay last summer twice (did not stay overnight) and she did not have a problem getting in the gate and we did not prearrange anything. She even arrived to the resort before we did the day we came in!!! We drove up to the front and there She was sitting on the bench waiting for us! Actually, she meets us there the day we arrive for the past four years, and she usually beats us there...she spends the day with us and then goes back home after dinner. She has never had a problem getting into the resort.

As long as they give the guard the name of the person they are seeing, they are all set.

I had a friend visiting me and he ended up staying over night and there was never any problem.

I have, also, had my mom & or grandparetns come and visit for the day with us for the day at WDW. On a trip where my mom visited for the day, she stayed late, so hubby and I could go out and she would watch our son. We asked (and received) a room card for her to use...just in case she wanted to take our son out of the room, for a walk, etc. This was at CSR..they had no problem making us a key for her for the day.
