Hotel Views

Hi! Everyone,

First I just wanted to say I think I found a good bargain for WDW tickets. I tried all the ones that were given on the board, and with some pencil work it came out that disneyorlandovactions.com was the best: 1,160.00 for 2 adults, 2 child, 10 day pass with no experation. I did though receive an email stating that mousesavers.com was coming out with discount prices for tickets on Feb 15, so for now I'm holding off, then I will compare those two sites, and finally purchase our tickets. One step closer to getting this vacation done.

Now my question is which hotel rooms have good views of the illumination and Wish fireworks. I thought it might be best to watch them from the room instead of trying to find a place to sit.

I don't think it's possible to see both Illuminations and Wishes from any hotel on property. You can see Wishes from any of the hotels on the Monarail, and I know you can see Illuminations from BC. You can also see the fireworks from PI at SSR (although they don't compare to Illuminations or Wishes!). You can ask for a park view when you make your ressie. Of course you don't have to stay at the resort to go there and watch the fireworks. My last trip we watched Wishes from the pier at the GF. It was nice and kind of romantic, and they pump the music for the show out of the resturant that is right there (can't remember the name. )

My trick to seeing the fireworks is to pick a spot about an hour or 2 before the show and sit (rest the feet! aahhhh) and wait. Then stay put or take my time looking around while the crowds cattle herds out the gate. Seeing Illuminations from over near Italy is great for this cuz you by the time you get around the lagoon, most of the people have already managed to leave out of the park.

Also just a note from experience.. if you see Illuminations from w/in Epcot around the lagoon... check to see which way the wind is blowing... and don't stand there!! - firework debries --yyummm.

Whatever you decide - have a great time, and don't forget Fantasmic in Disney Studios!!! (unless you have little little ones.. might be to intense for them).

Personally, My family and I skip Epcot and illuminations now. You have to stake out a location so far in advance and then right before show time everyone squeezes into your space. Little kids can't see. Dads put them up on their shoulders, then no one can see. The crush getting out of the park is nightmarish. Fantasmic is much, much better. You get characters and great 3-D animatronic villains along with a few fireworks. The main thing is you have a place to sit and you know you will be able to see the show. Take something to sit on as the metal benches get cold. We watched MK fireworks from our bunkbed room at W.Lodge, room 6020. It was great. There are a few trees, and if it's foggy you won't see much, but it beats sitting out in the weather and fighting the crowds. We just returned 2-12 and this worked fine most nights. Oh- and check the times for MK fire works - some nights it was 7:00 and others it was 9:00.

You can see the high fireworks of Illuminations at CBR and some have reported at POP.
