Hotel tipping question

UK family coming to a Disney Resort (Yacht Club) for the first time. Can anyone please summarise who in the hotel you would normally give a tip to? Last time we came to Disney we self catered and the issue did not really come up.

Outside of the restaurants is it just a couple of dollars per bag for the bell hop? I don’t want to offend anyone but equally I don’t want to be giving out dollars like confetti.

Also what do you normally do if you get caught short of cash?

Bellhops are $1-$2 per bag upon delivery (not dropoff). Housekeeping is up to you, usually $1 per person per day. I give valet parking a couple dollars upon delivery.

I have always left a tip for housekeeping. Generally $1 per person per night. I will leave it on the bed with a note for "housekeeping" or "mousekeeping." Typing the housekeeping staff, per night, is generally accepted travel etiquette. Also, you generally tip on a per night basis because the same person may not clean your room every day.

I never knew to tip hotel housekeeping until this board. We don't get service every day. More like every other day. We leave $5 when we get service.

Let's not start the housekeeping tipping argument again, please. The horse is dead.

OP, it's generally expected that guests will tip bell services and valet parking, if you use their services. Housekeeping tips are optional, and at the guest's discretion.

This is a very controversial subject on here, especially regarding housekeeping.

This is what I do as well (and I tip housekeeping).
