Hi all!
Currently planning a trip to Disneyland Paris from Sunday Sept 18 to Friday Sept 23rd. We'll arrive lateish afternoon on Sunday the 18th and leave around 9:00 am on Friday the 23rd. We're from the US, and this is our first time in France (spending a week in Paris before going to DLP), and are definitely planning to stay onsite. I'm 100% a planner (thinking of doing a pre-trip report...are those a thing over here?) and love doing all the research, but I'm currently in the initial "i'm overwhelmed!" part of planning, so I have a bunch of questions. I've been reading over the posts here on the board (sorry if you've seen me pop up a lot!) but didn't see stuff that spoke to these questions, especially post-Covid.
  • Since our flight leaves at 12 noon on the 23rd, so we don't need park tickets that day. Would I need to call DLP to book the hotel with only 5 park tickets instead of 6?
  • Annual Pass - I was thinking of buying an Infinity annual pass for me for the discounts (20% on merch, 15% on meals, and included Photopass that we'd be buying anyways). However, if we want to go to the parks for 5 days, it reads like I can only reserve 3 days in advance? Which may be a problem? Other pros/cons I'm not realizing?
  • If we do hotel package -- is the meal plan worth it? I'm very familiar with the WDW meal plan, which almost never was worth it (we don't drink alcohol), and so that's what I'm assuming here too, but thinking about the breakfast meal plan. At the Art of Marvel it would be in Downtown Restaurant, I'm assuming. I know food at Disneyland Paris is different than how I'm used to at WDW, but I'm assuming there's still quick service breakfast in the parks and snacks we could eat?
  • Hotel recs! Currently thinking of/leaning towards Art of Marvel cause it's closest and my husband is a Marvel fan, but anything about the other hotels we should know about/take into consideration?
Thank you!!!

You are spending a week ,in Paris , before DLP.

If you are booking the hotels yourself go for Half Board Option This is Bed . Breakfast & Evening Dinner

Why ? it saves you wandering around trying to find somewhere near your hotel that you both agree on the menu

You have done a full day of sightseeing & you could be tired And the last thing is finding a place to eat

..................

Have a good breakfast at whatever hotel you are staying at DLP & Forget about wasting time on snacks

at DLP Bring your own snacks & Water ( from th e Hotel ? )

Most Europeans go for the Attractions not for eating & wasting time

Older persons will Mind belongings while others go off and do things

1. It probably won't save you money. You can check, they will book you then a room only and 5 day tickets as 2 separate things.
2. You are staying on site, hotel guests don't need reservations.
3. For quick service breakfast in the parks, I would go to the Main Street bakery. I am not a fan of meal plans, but it works for others.
4. I just stayed at Sequoia - Club level for the past few days. One of the best stays ever. I am the person for cheapest hotels as possible. I stay in the park from open till close. You are staying there for 5/6 days, so you will probably go back to the hotel, I would spend a bit more money on getting a nice room. I have a hard time to justify the price of the Marvel hotel.

If you are staying for that long you as the above poster said have more time to go back to the hotel, I love Sequoia and the Golden Forest room, you may even want to go over to the Val d'Europe mall and the supermarket to pick up snacks. Alcohol is not included in the meal plans but a soft drink is. Unless you a buying a TON of merch the breakeven point on the Infinity Pass is six park days vs tickets. Photopass at DLP is not as useful for ride photos because you have to note your number and then wait in line for them to add it.
