My DM is going down with 4 of her BF in December and are looking for a hotel that can accomondate 5 adults and have a hotel shuttle service to the DLR. They don't want to use the ART system.

I know CCI and Sheraton Anaheim have a hotel shuttle service to the park.

Do any of you DIS know of any other hotels that have a shuttle service around the DLR area?

Thank You

The Hyatt which comes under Garden Grove has its own scheduled shuttle. Probably 1.5 miles away.

A number of hotels have a shuttle. Crowne Plaza (in Garden Grove), Doubletree (in Orange), Embassy Suites Anaheim North, Holiday Inn Hotel Anaheim

Embassy Suites Anaheim North might be a great option for your situation. It is about a 10-15 minute ride from the hotel, but the shuttle is dedicated (only carries passengers from this hotel). When you read on-line reviews, there are often posts saying they walked and it was only 20 minutes, or commenting on the animatronic lion....all of these people stayed at the Embassy Suites Anaheim South.

At the North Embassy you will be 6-8 miles from the park, there is no lion, the food is MUCH better, the facility is older, and the shuttle is not shared. So, as usual, the Dis will give you better advice, information, and suggestions than the web at large.

The North place has a WONDERFUL hot made to order breakfast as well as great fruit, drinks, and pastry in the mornings.

They have a manager's reception in the evening and have free "adult" beverages and soda as well as a snack item for free such as pop corn or party mix. They also have inexpensive pizza slices in the evening.

The pool is indoors and the area is very lush and tropical.

Their prices are good, the place is very roomy. Now for the bad; they are near a recycling center, just make sure to request a room away from that side of the facility.

For a large group, this is a nice option. When we have a larger group, this is where he usually stay. We have recently had a baby, and I won't put her in the shuttle bus because it does not have car seats, and they drive on the freeway. It is allowable, but just does not seem safe enough for my personal taste.

So, it is not a perfect hotel, but in the right circumstances it is really great. The price is so much better than Embassy Suite that is "closer" to Disneyland, but that hotel did not have in indoor pool, the food was not nearly as nice, and it was WAY TOO FAR to walk. It has a shared shuttle with several other hotels which are all quite large, so there were several times when we watched a bus fill, and then waited for it to make the loop to drop off and then come and pick us up. And for this inconvenience, we had purchased tickets on top of our room price.

We were very happy with Embassy Suites North with teenagers, and the savings in food and drinks alone made this place a winner. They have made some great improvements over the years, and my husband stays at this hotel when he is there for business. Sometimes he is there for as long as a month at a time, and they really become a home away from home.

Embassy suites North has a sign up, so you pick your drop off and pick up time. I was at the park once and needed to head back earlier than planned. I just called the hotel and they sent the shuttle to pick me up. I appreciated that greatly.

So, the shuttle does not spend time running back and forth all day on the off chance someone might want to come back to the hotel, but they will run as needed via schedule or request.

The last time we were there it was leaving the hotel at the top of the hour and the parks at the bottom of the hour via the schedule you could use to sign up for the shuttle.

Oh, Candy Cane is a great place, too. Yet, you can only do five adults if you get one of their Deluxe rooms and a roll away bed.

do all of these shuttles run on the half hour like CCI?
The Doubletree OC/Anaheim (not to be confused with the Doubletree Anaheim on Harbor) runs on the half-hour in the morning and every hour after that. At least it did when we there last May. They were reliable with times. First shuttle left 30 minutes before park opening (not MM - if you had MM you were out of luck) and then at the top of every hour. The pickups at DLR were at the bottom of the hour with the last pickup 30 minutes after park closing.

FWIW, it all worked fine but I would not choose to stay there when the choice was mine because I prefer to be closer to DLR. We were with a middle school band competition and that is where they assigned us to stay so I had to go with the flow. :)

I would recommend the Sheraton Anaheim over the Embassy Suites North, unless you specifically would like a suite, and hot breakfast included with your reservation.

Embassy Suites North is off of the 91 freeway, and about 6 miles away from the DLR. The Sheraton Anaheim is on the back-side of Disneyland and has a dedicated shuttle.

No the Embassy Suites uses the Art buses which I believe he/she just said doesn't want to use.

I looked at the routes for the ART and it does not show the embassy suites north that has a route. It has one for the embassy suites south.

Are you talking about that the embassy suites north uses the ART buses to make a one way trip to the park from the hotel.

Embassy Suites North has a dedicated shuttle.
Embassy Suites South uses the shared ART system and its pick up location is shared with several large hotels.

I know this is not what you asked, but have you looked into the Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites? I think their suites would accomodate your DM party and they are right accross the street so there is no shuttle needed, yet the walk is really not much farther than teh shuttle drop zone.

Oh that's right, you guys are totally right, thanks for correcting me. It is Embassy south that uses the art buses :)

Thank you for all the replies, my DM has decided to do the Embassy Suites North. Even though it is a little bit farther distance from the DLR area, but with the shuttle bus and making arrangements with Embassy Suites North, it will be good for her group to go back to the hotel during the day and come back later during the night. Even though there are 5 adults in one room, it is enough for them and have the free breakfest and drinks during the day.
