My husband and I need a hotel for our later may trip...just the two of us 2 nights until we check into our villa with other fam at disney....We want to do discovery cove since we never have and other family going doesnt want to go. Want something really nice and close to discover cove....any suggestions? Also open to using hotwire...what hotels would I get?

I think they are Marriot brand hotels; but I can't think of their acutal names. but there are two at the intersection of International Drive and Central Florida Parkway; which is just right down the street from SeaWorld/Discovery Cove/Aquatica.

There is also the Renaissance on SeaWorld Drive. Look for anything that is on Westwood Blvd, that is also near those three parks.

Beautiful hotel. Good food for meals. Customer Service/Desk people were great! Pool is ok - nothing special. But they had a shuttle to discovery cove - it was an escalade lol took about 3 minutes to get to DC from hotel. If I was going to Seaworld/DC/ Aquatice trip I would definetly stay there again.

We have been to SeaWorld and Discovery Cove many times. We have found that there are two great hotels we like near SeaWorld. The first being the Renaissance Hotel @ SeaWorld. It is across the street from SeaWorld. Therefore, in order to get to SeaWorld you simply need to exit the hotel, walk across the street, and through the parking lot and then you are there. It is also a short distance car ride to get to Discovery Cove (we drove). The lobby is nice, rooms are above average, and they have a delicious breakfast restaurant. This restaurant ( I believe it is called Trailwinds) has a buffet as well as a menu. The food is great and it is reasonably priced. The pool and activites at the hotel are nothing special. However, they do have a Starbucks shop, gym, and I believe a spa. The second option would be the Hilton Orlando. In order to get to SeaWorld, you would have to drive; however, depending on what you want it may be worth it. This hotel is much larger and nicer but it is still reasonably priced. The rooms are great as well as the service. It is a relatively new hotel. They too have a lovely breakfast restaurant- buffet and menu. This buffet is a little smaller than the one at the Renaissance but still good. However, this hotel has more activities. They have a basketball court, vollyball court, pool with a slide, lazy river, pool bar, huge state-of-the-art gym, and spa. In addition, they have a little market store with food and gelato. It depends on what you want. We haven't stayed at the Rosen Centre but we did stay at the Rosen Shingle Creek. It was a nice hotel but it was farther away from SeaWorld and Discovery Cove. Don't forget to check for special offers. I hope this helps! Keep us posted on what you decide to do!

Thanks for the help on those hotels. We have stayed at the Renissance before. Nice hotel. We are trying to use hotwire to save some money on this hotel.

I have a question - if we wait to get to the gate to buy DC tickets are they the same as the online price?

When you go to Discovery Cove are you planning on swimming with the dolphins? If so (even if not), I would still book online to make sure that there is availability on that day. With the purchase of a DC package you get 14 days at either SeaWorld or Busch Gardens. If you go to SeaWorld before your DC day you can pick it up at the entrance to SeaWorld. I thought that with Hotwire they don't inform you of the hotel until after you booked this?!?! How do you know if it is the hotel that you want?
