We will be staying at Marriott Royal Palms (part of the Marriott Orlando World Center) and I just called to confirm our reservation. While on the phone, I asked about airport and park transportation and the agent recommended Mears. He explained the cost would $15 per person from the airport and then to WDW and US, the cost would be $10 per person round trip. Do these charges sound fair? Or can you recommend another, cheaper service? I really hesitate to pay for a rental car for 7 days ...

TIA! :teeth:

Those are the going MEars rates. However, be warned that on the airport to hotel shuttle you may get to tour several other hotels. I have also found it to be very crazy trying to get on the Mears shuttles and they want you to be picked up about 3.5 hours before your return flight. I would take a towncar.

Are they charging you $10 every time you go to Disney? It may turn out to be almost as cheap to rent a car.

We stayed at that hotel via Priceline, and I was amazed that such a nice place would charge extra for Disney transportation. Normally we use Happy Limo when at WDW because we stay on site, but we were at the Marriott for a convention (convention was the the Dolphin but we got the Marriott via Priceline to save some $$). Thankfully we had a rental car, so I drove to the Dolphin for the convention and left it there when I was done & switched to using WDW transportation. Normally I would recommend a towncar from the airport, but in this case a rental car might be your best bet overall. The fee is per use of the shuttle, and their schedule to WDW is very limited.
