Hi all,
We are planning a trip to Disneyland next year and we would really like to stay at Disneyland Hotel but we cannot afford a suite and we are wondering if we should just settle for a cheaper hotel with a larger room instead.
Our situation is my husband and I, plus my mother in law, and a nearly three year old. It didn't hit me until recently that the toddler may be going to bed early and I'm not sure if we will be so pooped that we will be ready to climb in the sack as well or if we will be stuck tiptoeing around after she goes to bed. I considered pushing bedtime back a bit but I'm sure she will be exhausted, right? Also, she currently sleeps in a toddler bed, I'm not sure if we would have her sleep in bed with us or her grandma or have some sort of other sleeping arrangement for her. I just don't want to spend a ton of money on a hotel that doesn't work out logistically for our family. What worked for your family?

My children always stayed awake longer at Disney than at home and they would be so tired they would pass out at the end of the night. But, I never tip toed around them, they learned to sleep with normal sounds. Make sure you have a stroller and she will make up for any lost sleep.

Have fun

If the toddler doesn't sleep with MIL, then that puts the toddler in bed with you two? Seems awfully crowded for a queen. So, if MIL doesn't want to sleep with toddler it seems you would go the 2 queens and a daybed route.

Usually at hotels my kids go to bed earlier than my DH and I. We just keep the lights off and things quiet. DH uses his phone, and I read a book with a book light. Once they're asleep we'll quietly play cards, chat, or sit on the balcony. My kids don't fall asleep with a TV on, but some do, so that's an option. We are still tiptoeing no matter what though, because it's important little ones get their sleep.

We travel with an inflatable toddler bed and it's a life saver. Made by the shrunks. It was under $60 and has it's own pump. It's under 6lb so easy to pack too. We have two year old twins so don't sleep well with us, bed hogs. This way they get their own space. Have you considered renting a condo or timeshare near disney? You can get two bedrooms dirt cheap off property, though you definitely lose a little magic. For us having lots of space and a kitchen is worth having to drive a few minutes farther.
