Ok, I know this is a really, really long shot, but many moons ago, we had a head server on the Magic named Lloyd from India who was AMAZING! On our next cruise, also on the Magic, he was the Mait're D. He was there for another cruise, then we saw him on the Wonder, and he was over all of Food and Beverage! This guy was the best all around guest service provider I've ever met, and was kindness personified. It's been 15 years now since we've been on a cruise... grandkids born, causing us to travel by land...nuff said... so my question is, has anyone run into a tall Indian man, probably in Hotel services management by now, onboard any DCL ship lately? We're cruising on the Dream on the 25th of Feb. and I'd just love to see him again!

Is that him ?

It’s an old interview - it dates from 2010 - but it could help others find out where he is at the moment.

Edit : his LinkedIn account still mentions DCL as his current employer.

I saw him last on the Wonder, but that was over a year ago. He bought me a drink at Cadillac. :) I don't know if he's still there.

It is! It is him, I'm so excited to see his handsome face! He was so sweet on the cruise when we took my parents-in-law. My dmil had alzheimers and was confused about dinner not being there right away after ordering and when he came to visit at our table ( he was the food and beverage manager of all on board venues) she complained to him. He went straight to the kitchen to get her the chicken breast she wanted, then cut it up for her when she demanded it. I'll never forget that, or his willingness to have it wrapped to go to her room so it wouldn't be 'wasted' when she had a fit about it. True professionalism and compassion combined! That is my definition of the Disney difference when people ask me why I say their service is so much better than others'. THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing the video! It brought back so many good memories!

This is so nice, that you have found him. They are the people who make the memories. And if he is still a hotel director it might be easier for you to find which ship he might be working on. Good luck!

Loved to hear your story of the fond memories. We have sailed with Lloyd a few times and usually have the opportunity to chat with him. Last we saw, he was on the Dream just about a year ago. Since you mentioned that you will be on the Dream I hope that fact increases the chance you will get to meet up with him.

That's amazing! I would be thrilled to see him! The first time we met him, our oldest son was 21 and single. This sailing, he's 39, married and has 4 kids. Lloyd is also married and has kids. I think they would love to trade stories!

There is a famous bartender at the Overlook Hotel in Colorado named Lloyd but I don’t think his style lends itself to DCL except maybe for a Halloween cruise.

I will! I sure hope we'll see him. I talked to my son today and he said he was excited to see him.

We did see Lloyd!!! He's now the Director of Castaway Cay! We asked at Guest Services to see if he was onboard the Dream and they told us about his new position and told us to look for him on CC. The 2nd day of our cruise we got a note to go to Guest Services, and when we did, we were told that they had contacted him and that we had an appt. to meet him at noon at Serenity Bay! We were so excited that we weren't going to be spending the day searching the island for him... that wouldn't have been fun. He was right there when we got to SB, and we had a wonderful visit, and caught up on what our families were doing and just had a great time. He looks the same as always, handsome and tall. I'm so glad to see that he keeps getting promoted. We teased him that he'd be taking over for the CEO at some time, but he said he'd rather be with the cast members and guests than behind a desk somewhere. That's exactly what I'd expect to hear from him. If you're reading this Lloyd, we're so proud of you, and we love you like a son.
