Hi guys!! I've been looking around on here for a few weeks, finally decided to jump in! I've been researching like crazy, planning our honeymoon in December at Disney. I'd really wanted to stay on-site, but we just can't afford it, except to stay at a value resort and thats just not romantic to me (I've stayed at both the pop and sports before)...but just found a good deal through mousesavers for the royal plaza, and it just sounds so much better, even though I hate not to stay onsite, this is almost as good and just looks so much nicer, and more luxurious. Anyone stay there before, have any advice??

I haven't stayed there yet, but will in 11 days. I will let you know when we get back....:cool1:

BTW - what kind of rate did you find? For this competition, we are paying over 250 per night, per room.....

I stayed there three years ago. My sister and I were having an "Orlando" vacation and the Royal Plaza was included in our vacation package. I can not say enough nice things about the staff. They made all the arrangements for cars and provided a ride for us when our airport shuttle never showed up. The hotel is very nice and the rooms are homey and comfortable. Our flight had been delayed on the way down and we did not check in until 1:30am. They took care of our luggage for us and gave us some sodas and snacks at the front desk to fill our tummies. Our room was first floor poolside with a private patio and it was by far one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in anywhere. If my DFTW happens I plan on making part of my stay there.

And don't forget the Disney shuttle is FREE. Any specific questions PM me. :)

My parents have stayed at the Royal Plaza and LOVED it.. If they stay off site of Disney its either there or the Wyndham!!!! GL

I have stayed at the Royal Plaza. Make sure you let them know that you want a room with the EXTRA Large Jacuzzi! It's really nice in there. Enjoy!

I got the deal through mousesavers.com also - for the Royal Plaza in August. We are staying 8 nights - it was every 4th night free. Plus breakfast buffet included. I am paying $950 total including taxes for 8 nights in an executive suite. I thought that was great - comes out to about $100/night! The other rooms were less expensive but I wanted a suite so one child can go to sleep earlier, two tv's and much more room. PM me for the special link if you want it - you won't get this deal directly through mousesavers website. It was an emailing newsletter.

My DF and I stayed there in March (when we got engaged!! :cloud9: ). The hotel was wonderful. The staff was super nice and helpful. The lobby is just beautiful and the rooms are comfy. I loved the individual patios that the 1st floor has. It was a pleasant stay overall. It has earned my hotel of choice until we can afford to stay at a deluxe resort. :goodvibes:

Thanks for all the advice...I think we're going to try to stay onsite now though...my mom, who is a huge Disney nut as well has offered to help us stay onsite. She knows how much I love being in the middle of it all the whole trip, so that's awesome. I hate to give up the nice plush rooms and JACUZZI! tubs at the Royal Plaza, but to me it's just not the same not being at a Disney hotel. We were there this past weekend for Mothers Day and I saw where the Royal Plaza is, and its pretty and nice, but it's just not Disney. So we're hoping for either POR, or maybe Wilderness Lodge, my dreeeeam hotel.
