Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Royal Plaza or the Best Western both situated in Hotel Plaza Boulevard close to Downtown Disney?

We have managed to get a rate for both of them which is under £55 per night. Only staying 1 night before moving on to the coast.

Which would you recommend?

Hi AlexE,

I can't comment on the BW but have stayed at the Plaza Oct 02.

Check if your quote is for a standard or deluxe (tower) room. I would not recommend a standard (annexe) room as these are in need of a refurb and some smell musty. The deluxe rooms are approx £10 more to upgrade to and like the rest of the hotel are lovely.

Don't let this put you off a very good hotel - just make sure you are in the correct part of it.

Any more info needed just shout.

We stayed at the Hotel Royal Plaza in May and thought it was great, our room was in the Tower and, as Alec says, I don't think I'd want to stay in the annexe rooms, so check which one you have been allocated.

It's brilliantly situated and was a lovely place to stay.

Hi,

We stayed at the Best Western LBV for 5 nights in March 2001.

The hotel is situated at the LBV entrance to Disney (on right hand side). Its a 10 walk to Downtown Disney and and a couple of minutes in a car.

The rooms were like your average Orlando hotel room except for them having a balcony, which is a real plus point.

Depending on which side of the hotel you are on, you can get a good view of Disney and the fireworks. When we was there, there was a $10 surcharge per room per night for a room facing Disney. Although you can go up to the bar/club on the top floor and have a great view there.

The hotel also has a gift shop/newsagent and a bar in the lobby. I think they do complimentary transportation to all of the disney parks.

Regards

Paul

Thanks very much for your help - I think we are going to book the Best Western as they have been completely refurbished very recently and I can get a rate of £49 - just one more site to check out.
