We always stay at HoJo in the Disney view rooms, but I want to start to look at other hotels since the retro rate is not going to be as readily available.

I have two kids with autism and they love to watch the fireworks from our room on the balcony. They will not stay in the park during the show.

Anyway are there hotels within walking distance that we can see the fireworks from the room preferably with a balcony?

Fairfield Inn does not have balconies, but they have outside corridors you could watch the fireworks from. It is next to Hojo. I can usually get a room there for about $95-115-ish depending on the time of year. All rooms have a pull out sofa which is nice if you have more in your group.

Hotel Menage apparently has views. I've not been. Though I'm not sure if it is from the rooms or just the pool.

The Sheraton park Hotel is just south of Katella and has a tower where many of the rooms face the parks. The fireworks would be farther away though. The rooms have balconies or rooms with slider that open to a railing. I do not know if you can book a park view room or if it is the luck of the draw. We have stayed there twice now (no park view) and the hotel is nice.

We stayed at the DL Hotel last 4th of July in the Adventure tower with a DTD view and watched the fireworks from our room. They even have the fireworks music piped in and synchronized on the TV. We took the day bed in the room and turned it to face DL ... It was pretty amazing.

We stayed at the Camelot Inn, our room was on the top floor back by the hot tub and we could watch the fireworks from our window. If the room is too close to the road the view would be blocked by the front wing. Which must have a great view.

I know this isn't the same but Desert Inn and Suits across the street has a rooftop viewing area. Nothing fancy but I do have some pics from it if you wanted to see how close it was to stuff (taken for this specific reason actually). My mom loved taking the kiddos up there to watch in pj's while we stayed late at the park :)

Also from some of their rooms you can see the fireworks for your window.

Red Lion has some rooms with you can see fireworks from. It's not walking distance tho.
