Maybe somebody can help, we are going for a trip in May but are hoping to book a halloween trip aswell. For may we are just staying offsite. But at Halloween we were hoping to stay onsite. We are a family of 6. We would have annual pass so dont need tickets, just hotel. How or where do you just book hotel? And what is the cheapest for this time of year that would accommodate all of us. Would adding on an extra adult at check in reduce the cost?

Very loaded question but thank you in advance.

theres no hotel at DLP, apart from possibly the Santa Fe (but it depends on the ages of everyone in your party) which takes 6 in one room. The Davy Crockett ranch does though, if you are driving over?

If you're not considering the Davy Crockett ranch, then you'd need 2 rooms at all the other onsite hotels.

The cheapest way to stay onsite if you have annual passes is to book one adult (and any free kids, so in October thats usually kids under 7) into each hotel room that you need, on a package.

Then, at check-in, you add the others to the room. This doesn't cost anything extra over what you've already paid, apart from local tax per new adult added to the room, of at most 2 euros per night per person.

Remember though, once you have added all your guests to the room, you can't go over the maximum occupancy of the room (so for a standard room at the onsite hotels thats a maximum of 4 guests over the age of 3, plus an infant).

You can book a room for 1 and at check in you can at the rest of the party.
It will cost i believe € 1.10 a person which includes breakfast.

Do all other rooms sleep four? Or are there also rooms that sleep only 2? Meaning, if I book a room for 1 adult, can we get assigned a room for only 2?

Yes there are rooms for 2.
I notify the hotel a few days before we arrive that i will another one to the room at check in so that they now that with room assignment.

there are a few onsite hotel rooms which sleep 2, but not many, compared with the usual standard of rooms which sleep 4.

Standard is a room that sleeps four. The DLH and HNY do have a Queen bed room for two people only, but these are usually only given on request (I believe there may be more inside hotels that offer only one Queen bed but few and far between). I always book a room for one and then email to confirm that the assigned room will have enough beds for four people to accommodate us when we add three on with AP's :) Remember that its just €1,10 per night, per person to add on another person.

We stayed in sante fe, cheyenne, sequoia lodge, new port en new york and had always one double bed in the room.
Without requesting for it.

If you only book for one, or two, without saying you're adding others, they probably assign these to you :)

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but theoretically, for our family of four, we only need to buy 3 AP's and then we can book the other adult in the room and he gets the ticket that comes with the package. And if we get francilian AP's, there are no blockout dates as we are then staying onsite? And we don't need to add parking to the AP as we are staying in a Disney hotel?

you have the rough idea, yes.

However - you would need to buy your Francillien APs through the post from DLP before you go, because those APs have 2 non-contractual dates, and can't be used at all for park entry, regardless of whether you are staying onsite or offsite, on the 2 and 3rd dates after you have activated them. If you wait until you arrive at DLP to buy your Francillien APs, you could use them on the day you buy them, but then you couldn't use them on days 2 and 3.

If you buy your Francillien APs from Disney through the post in advance of your trip, you are sent permanent APs through the post to your home address. Because they are already permanent APs, by the time you arrive at DLP the 1st 3 days of the APs validity will already have passed, so you would be fine to use them for park entry if staying onsite.

If you want to wait until you arrive at DLP to buy APs, it would need to be Fantasy APs, not Francillien.

there is lots of great information about this on our Annual Pass thread -

Thank you for all replies.

Where do I book hotel direct though? We would be driving so Davy crockett would be an option.

Can I just book for 1 adult? Then add 4 children (10,6,5,2) on after and 1 adult?

all of your children except the 10-year old is free on a package, so book one adult and the 3 younger children in on the package, direct through DLP with the discounted package offers they have running pretty much constantly.

Then when you arrive, you add the other adult and oldest child to the cabin, for local tax charge only. There will be no other charges added.

They will also get the free half board meal plan as well then :thumbsup2
