We are planning on going to WDW on Oct 12 - 16. Do I need to go ahead and reserver our room or do I have time to wait on a code? If I get a code later will they apply it to this reservation?
Also, do I need to go ahead and purchase MNSSHP tickets now too?
You could reserve now and if a code comes out you can switch it to the new rate if any are available. By reserving now you're guaranteed a room at the resort of your choosing.
I was supposed to be going 10/18-10/23 - but due to a job change, am not going until 5/06 (sad!). But we made out reservations in January 2005. I would make them now and get it out of the way - that way you can start planning the fun things - like dining and MNSSHP - I would get the MNSSHP tickets ASAP - my travel agent told me that they go fast!
Definitely get the room reserved now -- try to get a AAA rate which are already available. You don't have the have the AAA card when you book, but will need it for check-in. The AAA discount often pays for the membership -- for 7 nights on my recent stay at a WDW moderate, the AAA discount was $175.
If you have or plan to get an AP, then you can always ask to have the rate changed when AP discounts become available. I did this and was able to save another $175 or so off the AAA rate.
