Hotel reservation question

I know the dates that we are planning to visit Disneyland next year, and I know the hotel we want to stay at - the Hojo- but what I want to know is: Is it better to make our reservations NOW to insure we get the room(s) we want? I think we'll need two because we have other family members coming as well (I think.) Or should I wait to see if there will be a special rate that comes up and gamble that the dates we want will still have rooms available? Does the Hojo book up pretty fast? The last time we went I waited too long and by the time I went to make reservations the closest room we could afford was the Travelodge seven blocks down. :sad2:
Any advice or inside info would be SOOOO helpful, thanks in advance!!
:thumbsup2

Hojo's has special Entertainment Book rates which will give you a HUGE discount off the regular rate. Right now, the standard rooms are $59/night and the premium rooms (with Disney view) are $74/night! You can purchase the book from any city....It doesn't have to be the one from the Anaheim area and you will need the card from the front of the book at check-in. The rate isn't available on all days, but if it is available on the days that you plan on going, be sure to book right away as the rates only last for a while. Here is the link to their site and a list of the dates that the entertainment rate is available. Sometimes, the dates will be on the list but they won't show up when you try to book them at the online reservation site. It's best to call and check if the dates you want are available and make your reservation by phone. :)

If you call them for the Entertainment rate, be sure you're calling the actual hotel, not their 800# reservations people. They won't know what you're talking about if you call the main number.

Book when you can, especially if going for the Ent rate. They are easy about canceling, though of course they do have a time limit on it, so if your trip doesn't work you can still cancel the rooms.

If there's no rooms at the amazing Entertainment Book rate, now that you're a member of the disboards, you can ask for the 15% disboards rate, and if you have an AP for Disneyland there's even a, I believe, 20% AP discount!

Discounts abound, and they are really easy to work with. But be sure to call the in-house people at the actual hotel.
