Hotel recommendations near the Port

Hi, cruising on the Wish end of August (first cruise ever!). We decided to head to the Port on Sunday, the ship leaves Monday. We're going to park at the port as well. Recommendations for something close and clean to the port? I know there are so many to choose from, at least if I had a few to start to compare prices, I'd appreciate it. I see a Hampton Inn and a Country Inn close-thanks!! We're 3 adults.

Sorry, I have another cruise question, unrelated to the hotel suggestion. Leaving the ship the morning of the last day-I've seen videos and it looks like there are long lines to get off the ship. If we carry our own luggage, do we still have to wait in the lines to get off? Again, first cruise, so we are newbies to all of this!

What port are you departing from?

If you are taking your own luggage off, you'll be in the first group off once the ship clears customs. However, you'll still have to take your bags through customs.

Otherwise, you'll put your bags outside your room in the evening. You'll be assigned a group (like Orange Goofy) and be told what time to expect to be able to get off. There will be an are to collect your bags.

Typically it's not a long process. One time we had no problems. Another time the ship took ages to get cleared through customs and we were stuck on the ship an extra two hours.

Here's a blog with photos of Disney's policies/procedures for getting off the ship:

If price is a consideration, consider the hotels off I-95 near Titusville.

My only stay in PC was at the Country Inn & Suites over a decade ago; our cruise group met up there. Hotel was decent enough. Definitely more options are available now.

Thank you for the link! We are leaving out of Port Canaveral.
I'm probably not much help then :) When we cruised out of Port Canaveral, we flew into MCO the night before and stayed at a hotel near the airport so that we could take their free shuttle back to the airport the next morning to catch the DCL bus to the port.

Just had recent stay at Home2Suites on Astronaut Blvd. in PC. 5 minutes from terminal. Very clean, nice staff and breakfast included. They also provide shuttle (but we didn't use it, had our own car).

I prefer the Marriott brands of hotels - there is both a Residence Inn and a SpringHill Suites very close to port. There is also a new Courtyard by Marriott in Titusville by Kennedy Space Center and a Fairfield Inn off of I-95 in Titusville also. I have stayed at all of them over the years and all are very good.

We have gone on the Wish twice and both times did express walk off with our luggage. The lines were absolutely long. They were all the way down deck 3, and around the forward elevators and back down the other side. We got in line just before 7 am and it was still long. Once the line moved, it moved quickly and we were off the ship, through customs and in our car parked at the garage and out of the port area well before 7:45 am. It's a long line but moves quickly.

Enjoy your first ever cruise and have fun! It's a great experience and these boards have tons of information and knowledgeable people on them so feel free to ask your questions.

Thank you!!!! These boards are great, there will be many questions to come, thank you all again!

Homewood Suites in Cape Canaveral is nice and is only a mile from the port. Parking is $10 a day
