Hotel recommendations near Legoland

I need recommendations for a hotel near Legoland. This trip is just my 8 yr old son and I. The main reason for the trip is to visit Legoland but we have booked a couple Adr's: Chef Mickey's and T-Rex. So the other option would be staying near Disney and driving to Legoland for the 2 days we plan to visit.

Will you be driving to Orlando for meals each day? If so, just stay in Orlando. There's not much in Winter Haven.

Thanks, that's what I decided in the end because I would rather make the drive to Lego land in the morning hours than at night after being at Disney. Right now I'm looking at the embassy suites lake buena vista south. It seems like a really nice hotel but since we have always stayed onsite at Disney I have no experience with offsite hotels.

You'll want to stay at the Hampton Inn in Lake Wales. It's about a 10 minute drive to Legoland, and I believe they offer a shuttle as well. There are places to eat around the hotel, too.

How about the Omni? It would put you a little closer to LL but still close to WDW. It's a nice resort.
