Hi

My husband and I are in the midst of planning to spend some time at Disney Land either before or after a Mexican Riviera cruise we have planned.

We were thinking maybe 4 or 5 nights.

We are members of the Starwood Preferred Guest program and can use points to stay at either of the following hotels near Disney:

Sheraton Anaheim Hotel
Sheraton Park Hotel at the Anaheim Resort

Does anyone have any experience with either or would you recommend one over the other.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Tough call. I've stayed in both and liked them both ok. I think the Sheraton Park, the tall one, has been renovated pretty recently.

Even though it may be physically further from the park the walk to the sheraton park is a straight shot down harbor and passes a quickie mart and a 7-11 which can be good for pre-post disneyand essentials. On the other hand the Sheraton (castle looking one) is closer to the park but you have to walk all the way around the park to get to it, its a long walk after a full day. You do get to walk through downtown disney though on the way to your hotel, so thats nice.

If you're not walking then I'd say either are fine. I think I like the castle one a little better, buts that probably because the trip where we stayed there rocked. The time i stayed in the sheraton park I also had to go to a convention so I dont have as fond a memories.

We've stayed at the Sheraton Park Hotel, and it was a nice hotel. Yes it was renovated. The walk is okay maybe 15 minutes but you do have the ART to use as well. We did because we had younger kids and the walk back was too much for them but in the morning or afternoon they were fine to make it. I also found that there weren't many kids there either because it is beside the convention center it seemed to me to be more of a business hotel. The pool grounds are beautiful and the restaurants are good. Oh yeah and if you ask you maybe able to get a Disney view where you can watch the fireworks at night (if there are any). I watched from my bed lol.

Noreen, the Anaheim Sheraton has a free shuttle to and from the parks, so you might want to add that to your list of pros and cons. It's also close to the Disney parking structure, so you can take the parking tram and then walk from there as another option.

It also has beautiful grounds and very large rooms. I believe there is a breakfast buffet option that you can either pay for or add to your room rate.
