hotel recommendation pls- DTD and airport shuttle?

I have some free miles that would completely cover one plane ticket and I'm considering flying down for just one night solo trip, no hubby or kids. If I do this I would only be going to downtown disney, no parks, I just want to shop!

I would need transportation to and from the Orlando international so am looking for a place that has free airport shuttle and would want a cheap room. I would also like to be within walking distance of downtown Disney, but would be okay with a shuttle to downtown Disney instead. When I say walking distance I should make it clear that I'm good with a 30 minute walk or so, I'm in good shape and don't mind walking distances, I just need a path that isn't going to take me out on the highway or something crazy.

Any suggestions for a hotel?

I'd just book a value for the night. That gives you DME to & from the resort & transportation to dtd.

besides disney the only free shuttle back and forth to the airport - is an airport hotel - so not even close to WDW.

they have shuttles - so you can get a fair price for one. Mears is generally the more expensive of the shuttles.

have you though about their online shopping instead?

I agre with pooch. (Or, if you're feeling it's worth $50 more: book POFQ or POR, so you can take the boat to and from DTD - way better than the bus from other resorts to DTD, I've found (even if not a slow bus, its just more fun on a boat)). So easy and care free, to use ME, bus and boat. Have fun!

PS If you want value resort, AoA is so clean and new, and covered bus stop (and only 1 bus stop). And if its bus is slow when you want to leave DTD, take Pop Century's - nice walk across the bridge from Pop to AoA. Food court at AoA is great - was there recently. Lots of healthy (and not so healthy) choices.
