Hey all. I am trying to figure out where to stay. What are the perks of staying on site. Do you get the same perks staying at a good neighbor hotel that you do staying at a DL hotel? Thanks :thumbsup2

One of the big perks is that you get to enter the park for all magic mornings during your stay. Others who stay at good neighbor hotels with 3 or more day park hopper passes only get to enter one magic morning.

Also, if you stay at GCH, you can use the GCH entrance into DCA.

If you stay on-site at the GCH, DLH and PPH you can take advantage of MM at DL on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. You can get in DL one hour early before they let the other guests in the park. And if you want a WoC FP early, you can use the GCH park entrance to the DCA half an hour early before DCA lets the guests in at 9:30am. It is only for the DL hotel guests only who can use the GCH park entrance to DCA in the morning. You must show your room card to use the GCH entrance in the morning.

You don't get the same benefits if you are staying off-site. But if you have a 3 day or more PH ticket, you get one MM and choose carefully of which day to use your MM.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the GCH and it was amazing to be able to go in and out of DCA as we pleased! staying on site definitely completes the Magic imo

Thanks you. Is it worth stay at a DL hotel? I know at DW early entry was pivotal, but is it as important at DL?

Staying at the DLR hotels is not cheap, the cheapest price I have seen for staying at the DLR hotels is around $160 at the PPH. But if you are there for multiple days it is good to take advantage of MM on those specific days. It's not like WDW has so many hotels and guests could take advantage of EMH at WDW. There is just the 3 DLR hotels and the guests with a MM on the 3 or more day ticket.

You get to be in the park for one extra hour and it is not really crowded as I have thought during my stay at the GCH last weekend. DL will have Main Street USA, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland opened during MM, the other lands will not be opened during MM until DL opens at the schedule time. Some rides in the lands that are opened during MM will not be opened like IASW and the DL railroad.

Thank you! I think we may stay at HOJO. I was looking at that anyway. But I wasn't sure what the perks were

Did you notice this point? In comparison to WDW where the whole park opens for EMH, but not at DLR.

But in addition to MM as a DLR guest you also get Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness, where toontown open early to DLR hotels guest for an hour. You get to go this once during your visit, you will be given a ticket. It is on different days, toontown has a delayed opening versus the other lands. This is more of a welcome party and you get less crowded time to see characters. Versus getting access to rides like in MM or EMH. This MTMM is available to Good Neighbo reservations as well.

Also the other advantage of staying onsite is being in the magic all the time. Staying on Harbor while close, you walk a sidewalk next to a public road and see non castmembers.

Just keep in mind that staying in a hotel just across the street does not make it a good nieghbor hotel, that is only the hotels, wether they are across the street of half a mile away, when booked through disney.
