Hi well as usual I am undecided! :rotfl:
we are off on holiday in September with sil(gailie)and bil for at least 17 days, on our keys road trip ending in Kissimmee for the last 4/5 days, now sil,bil are going to stay at Wilderness Lodge for that time, whereas I can't justify spending that kind of money,(3 days was £760 through DU, although I did find same time for £530 by searching the 'net )
so me and dh are thinking of somewhere else to stay instead, I have thought of the hotels at the crossroads or maybe a condo or something around that area, so the question is what would you do, where would you stay!, all answers greatfully received...!!! :surfweb:

Have you considered renting DVC Netty? Otherwise, it really depends on what you are going to be doing in those last few days. If you are doing Disney, it would make sense to stay in the Crossroads/Downtown Disney area. What about Sheraton Vistana resort?

I wouldn't have a clue about dvc Jo, no idea how it works etc...!
we just want to go to Disney Studios really, I have an annual pass that still should be valid, also a Seaworld one. so probably go to those and DTD and also a Walmart or two :rotfl:

what about the LBV resorts..we stayed in the Wyndam LBV and as long as you stay in the tower rooms (the wings get bad reviews) it's a nice convenient place to stay, but I would look for deals on it as its not worth paying the full room rates. A nice 5 min walk across to DTD..:)

What dates Jeanette? I will see if there are any good offers.

for DVC the points would be 16 per night(assuming all weekend points)so you require to rent 48 points at $10 per point = $480 =£310,slghtley cheaper depending if week day and not weekday nights
Paul

We have stayed at many places but our favourite are Saratoga Springs which will probably be pricey and Wyndhams Bonnet Creek. Its a timeshare condo resort right next door to Caribbean Beach. On the Orlando Hotels board there is a thread called 'The we love Bonnet Creek Thread"
we always book through www.vacationupgrades.com. Will be staying there for 3 weeks in August, cant wait. Fantstaic location, fantastic rooms, great resort.
We have also stayed at Homewood Suites which is great for a few days.

Thanks I'll bookmark that and have a look after work :)

Thanks Paul, how do you go about renting them, is there a site to look at for info etc?

thanks for the replies :thumbsup2

If you wanted to stay at WL then Paul's suggestion of renting points would be the best, not something I have done myself but always looks a good option if not wanting the free Dining deals.

Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek Disney World Walt Disney World Resort is a quality resort £315

1 bed aprt at Grande Villas Resort Lake Buena Vista = £170

1 bed aprt at Blue Tree Resort Lake Buena Vista = £195

Look at Monarch.co.uk & search LBV loacation, 4 pages of choice & 4% Quidco

Or search Lake Buena Vista at Otel.com. It's currently returning 33 results for your dates. Of course, you can also search for other areas in Orlando. We've had some cracking deals through them over the last few years, plus you get credits to use against future bookings, 10% discount if you "Like" their Facebook page and 6% cashback through Quidco.

Never managed to find a deal with them but I didn't know about their FB discount.
Just checked for 10 nights at Fairfield Inn LBV for our dates (31st Oct-10th Nov) and they want £456, Alpharooms £339(gone up £20 last couple of days) so even with discounts still too much this time but will look at them again in future.:thumbsup2

Everything we've booked though them has been at stupidly silly prices. Our 3 nights in a one-bed suite at the Ritz-Carlton in Sarasta is costing us less than £450 all in (including taxes). Though the R-C's own site, we'd be looking at over $2000. We had a ridiculously cheap deal at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami last year, and the Gaylord Texan and Ritz-Carlton Dallas, too. Plus others which escape me at the moment.

Thanks guys, I'll have a proper look tomorrow at your posts as thats the only time I have spare time!!! (got work all day then party tonight)

We are now going in August instead of September because dd is having baby no.3 at the end of September and she wants us here. Thanks for all your replies and links, I have bookmarked them all :thumbsup2
