We're looking at a couple different hotel options for our upcoming trip to DL....I'm hoping to get some good feedback on them. One is the Staybridge Inn and Suites, the other is the Cortona Inn. Has anyone stayed at these recently? They're in the Getaway today brochure and I know that they screen their hotels but I'm hoping for other opinions.

Thanks

Hi, those are both a little far. Also, check tripadvisor.com for some reviews. Cortona is kind of spotty.

You might want to read Hydroguy's tip compilation, specifically his hotel rule: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1199862

What are your dates? What kind of budget are you looking at? How many adults/kids?

the Cortona Inn is by the Doubletree Suites, so it's not that far. It's a simple motel-type property. I haven't heard any bad reviews, but like avalon451 said, it's a good idea to look at Tripadvisor.

I'll definitely check out trip advisor. The dates we are looking at are Oct. 16-20. So, I'm kinda in a rush to find something and lots of hotels are booked. I find some openings by going through getaway today. We need two hotel rooms, one with one adult and three kids and the other with two adults and four kids. We've stayed at Peacock a few times but I hate to pay for parking there and it's a pain if you want to go anywhere to have them get your car. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I stayed at the Doubletree Suites last year, and thought it was a really nice property. The restaurant isn't that great, but there are other places nearby. They do have a free shuttle as it's a little far to walk. The pool area is very nice as well.

I don't need the rooms to be connected. That's why I'm thinking of the Cortona...I need a standard room but my sister will need the kids suite since they have more people. We really don't spend a lot of time in our rooms anyway. I've been checking reviews at Tripadvisor, thanks for the great tip. I'd totally forgotten about that.

HI! I don't know exactly what you are looking for, when it comes to star rating or quality, but you might want to think about the Desert Inn and Suites. I know they have different options that offer a lot of space, up to ten people, and they are generally affordable. They are also within easy walking distance, and have a reputation of being clean and spacious, although no frills. http://www.anaheimdesertinn.com/

Also, the BW Park Place Inn has mini-suites and regular rooms, also right across the street.

I hope you find what you are looking for! I know that I get wound up pretty tight until those plans are made, then it is time to relax and countdown the time! :goodvibes

When we went to Disneyland this past June our family stayed at the Best Western Park Place Inn. Other that the Disneyland Hotel chains, which is a little steep in price, I think this is one of the next best places to stay at. This hotel is clean, price isn't all that bad (TIP: Join the "GOLD CROWN" membership on their website - you'll get a discount off of their daily rack room rates, [the discount is the same as AAA, where you need to pay an annual fee] oh did I mention, its also FREE - how can you go wrong) and the best thing, it is directly across the street from the main entrance to both parks. Since you'll be doing a lot of walking in the parks, staying somewhere close is not a bad idea. I did my own reservations (pretty-much everything was ala-cart). The cost of the trip didn't come-out too bad.

I have three trips booked and planned for the future.

The one next week..we are staying at the Holiday Inn..we stayed there in feb and it was nice, clean and resonably priced..the upcoming stay is already prepaid and cost 271 for the 4th thru 7th. What i like is that they have a resturant in the hotel and they also have little fridges in the room and a Shuttle that takes you to Disneyland.:goodvibes

The trip after that..we are staying at the Grand Californian.. it is expensive, yet i am hoping the nearness to the park is worth it as we have a large family group going with 3 older people and 3 small children.:santa:

The third trip... is with the Disboard Ladies Only group..they are going to stay at HOJO's..this will be my first time...i am hoping it isn't a big walk to the park.

The doubletree has a free shuttle to the park?

That's good to know for future trips.:goodvibes
