Hotel Opinions Given Price Difference

I know that these kinds of opinions are very individual and values-based, but because the discounts seems to be higher at some of the hotels that are usually more expensive, I thought I would see what choice people who have seen these hotels in person may think when presented with these price differences (for a 3 day/2 night package - all 'standard' rooms):

Cheyenne: 594 pounds
Newport Bay: 684 pounds
Sequoia: 725 pounds
New York: 761 pounds

Thank you so much for your help! :goodvibes

unless you are desperate to use a swimming pool while at DLP for such a short time, I'd pick the Cheyenne out of those 4 with the prices that they are showing.

Personally at these prices I would go for the Newport Bay but if I had kids I'd probably go with the Cheyenne because the theme is more fun and it will probably just be a place to crash at the end of a long day.

Hope this helps.

Depends on the time of year - we just did 5 days in the Cheyenne and there's no way I'd stay there again in the winter. The walk back to the hotel was freezing and standing at the bus stop was just as bad. The Newport Bay is much closer to the parks and if it's a winter visit then I'd pick location over saving a bit of money.

Id go with the seqouia as the pool is brilliant , dd2 is gutted were not staying there in a few weeks instead of npb. Winter trip id go with the new york as location would be my main priority.
stayed in the cheyenne before wouldnt stay again, it just a little too far from the parks and no pool. Tho it was grand considering how little we payed .

If you can afford it I would go with the Sequoia Lodge. It has recently been refurbished and the rooms are lovely, and it has a nice pool too.

If your after a budget hotel try the Santa Fe which is under refurbishment at the moment and the new Cars themed rooms look great. But this hotel does not have a pool.

For me personally, I think I would have to take the specifics of the trip in to account. For example, if someone in my party hadn't been to DLP before I would go for the Sequoia or HNY because of their atmosphere and, in my opinion, more 'Disney' feel, partly because they are closer to the parks.
However, if I just wanted somewhere to sleep and wasn't planning on spending much time in the hotel resting/swimming I would choose Santa Fe/Cheyenne because then I would be able to spend the extra money on souvenirs or a nice meal!
So I suppose for me it would mostly depend on budget and what I wanted from the hotel.
:)

We love Santa Fe, reasonably priced still within walking distance, very comfortable beds and it leaves us with more money to spend in the shops!!

Thank you so much for your comments. I ended up going with Sequoia Lodge as my daughters will love the pool, it's our first trip with the kids, and we're unlikely to go back anytime soon, so what the heck - live a little!

We're booked!:yay:

As a parent of 2 young kids aged 2 and 6, how suitable is the pool for young children and 2 adult who arent great swimmers? Im sure ive read somewhere that the pool is 5 ft deep all round and with no shallower parts?

Thanks

That's right, but it is easy enough to stand up in, provided of course that your height allows :) However it all depends on how comfortable you are. There are plenty of 'flotation devices' around the pool area to use, which may help you.

I took my non swimming DD (5) last year and she really didn't like that there were no areas of the pool that she could stand in. So I had to hold onto her the whole time :(

There are a lot of floats but it depends on your children's levels of confidence.
