What hotels do you recommend to stay at off of I-75. We plan to stop somewhere near the Georgia/Florida line. We will only be there for less than 8 hours (12am - 8am) so we would prefer for it to be very affordable.

Thanks

We stay in Valdosta at the Courtyard -- lots of hotels in that area but I will say the prices are going up.

Georgia resident here and I agree, stay in Valdosta. That will give you good options.

lake city in florida isn't too bad. stop at the rest stop and get the hotel discounts.

We stay in Valdosta too. The last time in 2005 we stayed at the Jameson Inn. It was fairly new, clean, and close to a small mall and Cracker Barrel if I remember correctly. We plan on staying here again unless we are making REALLY good time, then we may drive straight through.

Lake City has a brand new Hampton Inn and a Fairfield Inn by Marriott that has opened in the past month. That will put you about an easy 2-2 1/2 hours from WDW.

Just like everyone else suggests. Valdosta, GA or Lake City, FL. Both towns cater to the interstate traffic. There are plenty of choices of hotels and restaurants. I do recommend getting gas in Valdosta before crossing the state line. I worked in both towns at one point and I seem to remeber gas is cheaper in Georgia because of the state taxes.

We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites in Valdosta. It was very clean and they had an expanded continental breakfast included in our rate which we enjoyed because it filled us up and we were back on the road in a jiffy.
