YEAH!!! It looks like this trip is finally going to happen (thanks to lots of hard work from Cathy at DREAMS) We are trying to book our flight on the Friday night before our cruise and we will not be arriving into Orlando until 11;30 pmish. With 3 kids we were thinking it would be easier to stay overnight near the hotel. We will have a rental car so we can drive but I would prefer the closer the better. Anyone have any suggestions? We don't need anything fancy ...just CLEAN and comfortable. Is there a list anywhere?? Thank you so much for any suggestions!!!!:D

Don't know about a list.

On Thursday night of this week, we are arrving at ll:20 at MCO and staying at the Marriot Aiport (a mile away) thru priceline.

This is our first airport hotel experience, so I'll post how it goes.

You have 3 kids tho, and I might suggest the Hawthorn Suites a mile or two away from the aiport. I would have stayed there, but they are pretty pricy. You will get more room, tho and free bkfst.

I posted this same question a few days ago over on the cruise board. We're also flying in and arrive at 11:30 p.m. Check out Dave's site - he's got a pretty good list of all of the possible choices near the airport. I'm trying to get a 3* hotel through Priceline - I guess these all have a 24 hour shuttle available. It's so much cheaper than going straight through one of the hotels. As long as it's a 3* it should be nice.

Here's a neat little map which shows the 13 closest hotels to the airport (other than the pricey Hyatt which is located in the airport).

I personally think the Country Inns & Suites is the best deal. It is one of the closest ones..complimentary breakfast and it's a new hotel. If you need 5 in a room, try & pick up a suite hotel (make sure that the room can accomodate 5 though..not all suite hotels can.)

Hawthorne Suites. Two bedrooms is very nice if needed, quite location, reasonably priced, free breakfast. I believe it is fairly new, about 2 years young.

Six of us stayed there last May for one night before driving to Disney. Very close to the Airport and there are several restaurants in the area (we ate at TGI Fridays). We all stayed in a suite and the rate was either $79 or $89. Breakfast was included.

We stayed at the Marriott 3/2001 it was very nice and VERY close. We had the same situation 2 young children and a flight arriving 11pm ish. I think it was like $80.00 for the night. You can't beat the convenience and ease in finding it. I highly recommend it.
