I need suggestions for a hotel near Gainesville (I75) to just stay in overnite and sleep. Nothing fancy.
Thanks!

There are a ton of fairly new hotels at the Archer road exit. That is where we stop on the way down if we spend the night. They are all Hampton Inn type hotels. You could probably find them just by googling it. There is also a Publix at that exit if you need to get any groceries too.

Our DS and DIL lived very near that exit for 4 years while in school at UF. There is a nice Country Inn and Suites there and also a Cracker Barrel right next to it.

We stayed at the Super 8 last week on route to our Disney cruise. It was clean, cost about $55, had waffles, cereals, bagels & danishes for breakfast.

We stayed at Country Inn with 3 families this summer. It was more than adequate with indoor pool, ok breakfast set up and fresh baked cookies--Cracker Barrel next door is always nice.
