I need help finding a nice hotel near Disney for 7 people. I am wondering if any of you have a good idea on where to stay. Thanks Dave

For 7 people a condo or villa would be your best bet, unless you want to get 2 hotel rooms. A condo would be cheaper than 2 rooms (most times) plus you get the extra space and kitchen. Many also have laundry facilities.
There are several nice resorts close to Disney. Cypress Pointe has some very spacious 3 bedroom units and is only 1 mile from entrance to DTD.
What dates are you going?

Dave,

Most of the people on this board will suggest that you that renting a condo/townhome/villa will be the best route for 7 people. It is certainly the most cost effective if you want more space than two hotel rooms will provide.

You can rent a 3 bedroom /3 bath townhome in the Windsor Hills resort (WH) for around $115 per night depending upon the time of year that you travel. That's much less than two rooms at the Comfort Inn or LaQuinta, and Windsor Hills is a very nice resort by all reports. The resort is a 5 minute drive to Animal Kingdom.

There are lots of other rental communities in the Formosa Gardens area as well that offer condos and villas with a private pool. If you are interested in some ideas, post back what you'd like to have, and a general budget you have for accommodations, and people will be happy to offer you some ideas. (We're renting a 7 bedroom / 6 bath home - over 4k sq feet for less than $400 per night in November. We have 9 adults traveling.)

Keep in mind that if you rent a villa or townhome, you wont' have daily maid service or access to food via room service. But you will get a lot of space for the money, with a kitchen, a living room, and most have in unit washer/dryers. Another advantage of a town home (at WH) or a villa is that you have a pool right at your unit. This is really nice if you have kids - no need to hike to community pool. Just walk out your back door.

If you want a more hotel like atmosphere, try the 2 bedroom units at Caribe Royale. They will s

Good luck!

If not staying at a Disney resort, we have had good luck with the hotels at Downtown Disney http://www.downtowndisneyhotels.com

These hotels are actually on Disney property, so you are very close to all the action; themeparks, waterparks, shopping and entertainment.

They also offer complimentary shuttle service to the 4 Disney theme parks, which I have found to be very reliable and convenient.

Of the 7 hotels, we prefer Hilton, Buena Vista Palace and Hotel Royal Plaza. All three are an easy walk to Downtown Disney Marketplace. Guests at the Hilton are able to take andvantage of Disney's Extra Magic Hour.

Other nice hotels close to Disney we like are Marriott World Center http://www.marriottworldcenter.com/home.html
and Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress http://grandcypress.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp. The Peabody on International drive is another nice hotel. Not as close to Disney, but more centrally located to Disney, Universal and Seaworld. http://www.peabodyorlando.com/home.cfm
