Hotel near BUF airport?

Ok, this will be the dumbest question EVER.

How do you go about getting hotels on Priceline or Hotwire? (not the actual internet part, however). Do you wait until a few days before you want the room? I have never used either service.

You can book rooms far in advance but with both you must prepay and don't know what property you are getting until you have paid for it. The only thing you will know ahead is area, amenities and you choose what level of hotel you want.

Has anyone stayed at La Quinta? We have them booked to try out this time a week from Friday. Price was $130 taxes in for park/fly and 10 days parking. Continental breakfast is included.

I just booked Fairfield Inn for $129.oo -park and fly package. On Marriotts website.

Wow , someone quoted $179?
That's really high for a Fairfield Inn. Even a brand new one.

We are a family of 5, and this room is a 2 Queen with a rollaway request.
I'll post in Feb. how it all works out.

We want to stay at the hotel when we return from our trip. I guess I should call to make sure I can park for 10 days before we actually stay there overnight!

Are you sure the 129 is with parking? It appears like it's for room only. You might want to check that parking is indeed included.

We booked Millinnium Hotel for our September trip. Paid $99 US for hotel night, breakfast, 14 days of parking and airport shuttle.

Great deal!! And I like the fact that this hotel is sooooo close to the mall:rotfl: We are going in September as well. Do you need to call to get the rate or is it available on-line?

I know, I thought the same thing too, since there are two prices...$129 and $179. Under "specials for this Hotel" it lists "prices from $159.."
My confirmation says parking for 14 days.

I think I will call to make sure.

I just phoned Marriott and got a rate of $179 for the park and fly rate for the end of August. I think the $129 is for just a room. I also couldn't find any park and fly rate on the website.

As well I have Marriott points and she told me on the phone I can't use the points for a park and fly stay. HUH???? What's up with that?? What a crappy program. Sheesh. I got all excited thinking I can just use my points for a free stay but apparently not. Why can't there be a Starwood property around the Buffalo airport. SPG is SO much better.

.

Nope...
Just called to confirm. $129 with two weeks of parking.:cool1:

Again, this is for Feb. 2010. Maybe because I am booking ahead?

If you are looking for it on the website, click on "DEALS FOR THIS HOTEL" or "SPECIALS". There is a family night, body wars ( I think that's what it's called) as well as a park here fly there package. Try this:

I guess I got a good deal. I'll be keeping it !

Thanks for the link son3disfan!

The promotion says the following.

Rates from: $159
Valid Through: July 6, 2010

It's not like I'm booking for next week or tomorrow. When I put my date in for the end of August the lowest I get is $179.

I looks like you're right. Maybe if I book for next year I'll get a lower rate.

I booked online using a travel zoo code that isn't valid anymore...try checking travel zoo to see if they have any new codes or offers for the Millennium.

Yes we like Millennium for a few reasons as well: (i) not directly at the airport (noise), (ii) close to the mall, and (iii) right across the street from Olive Garden (YUM!)

Has anyone stayed yet at the Fairfield by BUF? If so, would really appreciate feedback. It looks nice and offers a pool and free breakfast.

We are staying in August. If you are going after that, we can let you know.

We paid $179. The $129 rate seems to be a weekend rate in the fall and winter.

Any info. after your stay would be really appreciated. We are thinking about staying here in December

I had the same dilema last March. I did the research but I am also a hotel snob - I like comfy beds and bright newer looking rooms.

The rate I got atthe Marriott Airport was amazing. Parking was incuded for 2 weeks (I think we paid $123 but I also got the concierge floor as we had a free dinner in the lounge the night before and continental breakfast in the am). We were 5 (had a cot). I think they had rates the same as Millenium which (if you trust trip advisor) doesn't get great reviews.

Beds were wonderful (like the Sheraton heavenly beds) and hotel was very nice - indoor pool etc. It takes a few minutes extra to get to airport - about 8 minutes but you can't hear airplanes flying over all night!

Go with Marriott:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

To which Marriott are you referring? Is it the Fairfield, or is there another one? I can't find anything less than $179 on the Marriott website. We are usually hotel snobs too, but the rates this year are nuts!

It's the Marriott Buffalo Airport on Millersport. I just tried not knowing your dates and got a base price of $144 - I booked last year on a govn't rate (sorry, forgot that) but I just put in a AAA rate (would accept CAA) and got $129. This hotel is lovely! To me it is worth a few extra bucks for a super comfy bed (white down bedding) which assures me a better sleep given our excitement!

Thanks! I found it. It starts at $169 (with advance purchase) for our early December dates. CAA rate is $189. I'll keep watching it though. I didn't see any park and fly rates available for our dates. Was it a Park n Fly package that you used, or is parking included standard in their rates.
