A family member is traveling for work and is limited to the Wyndham, Fairfield, or Doubletree as choices for her resort. She would like to be as close to Disney Springs as possible and will not have a car so would like to walk there.

She has asked for my opinion but I have stayed almost exclusively on site so I don’t really have an opinion.

Anyone have recommendations? A great free shuttle to parks would also be ideal.

Thanks!

Hilton Lake Buena Vista is right across the street from the Earl of Sandwich end of DS and there is a pedestrian walkway bridge so no streets to cross …. Look for discounts on well known sites to save on resort fees and parking (if needed) … there is a shuttle to the parks but we have never used it so can’t comment

Disney Springs hotels include a Wyndham and Doubletree. Wyndham is fairly close, Doubletree would be the farthest walk but still very doable. Both would have shuttles to the parks, would have to check at each regarding schedules.

PERSONAL OPINION only Wyndham has two sections, Garden which are small rooms and I'll never stay again and the Tower rooms. Doubletree is suites, so living room and bedroom. Just depends on which she would prefer.

NOW I do not know if her hotel choices if part of a package are the Disney Springs hotels, they could be farther away from Disney. You'd have to find out which of those brands locations they are talking about.

Here is the Disney Spring hotel website:

There is a Doubletree and a Wyndham Garden. I’ve stayed at the Doubletree and it was nice. If she can stay at a different Hilton Brand, I would go with one of them as they are closer to Disney Springs.

Thanks-
She says it’s the Wyndham at Disney Springs. That is the one she is leaning toward because it seems like the easiest walk to DS. Why would you not stay in the garden section? Although she would prefer to be in the tower, she will probably get a garden room if that’s cheaper since her company is paying for it and I think she has very few choices. She has to book on her corporate site.

The closest Fairfield is in the Marriott village. It’s over a mile to Disney Springs on the other side of the interstate. Does not look walkable,

Thanks-

That is good, it is a few minute walk to Disney Springs, very close.

We stayed there and the rooms are very small. Half our group checked out early because of it. But if it is just her the size should be fine. We overall didn't have a great stay but for just a bed & shower it should be fine.

Yes, it’s just her so I don’t think the size of the room will matter. She will only be there two nights and will not be in the room much. I’m hoping it’s clean? That and location are the most important factors.
Thanks for the info!

Ok thanks! I will let her know that is not a great option for her needs.

Not on your list, but the Drury Inn is completely renovated and built a new tower. It’s next to the Wyndham and offers a good breakfast and a heavy appetizer/drinks at dinner time. It has its own shuttle to the parks.

I stay at the Wyndham Garden on my solo trips.

For me the room is nothing special, but being able to walk to Disney Spring is huge for me. I just need a bed and a shower and I'll be happy with the room.

Garden is currently the cheapest and second closest to DS. I stayed at the B Resort (Now have a new name) during summer and the walk in the heat was terrible.

OP here- Thanks for all the great info! My family member has returned from her short stay at the Wyndham LBV. Said the room was fine and met her solo needs well, though she felt it would have been too small for a family of four.
It was a short walk to Disney Springs.
To get to parks, she found it convenient to walk to Saratoga Springs and catch a bus there. The free hotel shuttle required reservations the day before and she did not pursue that.
She was able to get in the parks 30 minutes early.
Overall, she said she would stay the there again.
