we are planning a trip for the 1st of june and was wondering if anyone has stayed at the hotel menage boutique? i see that it was renovated in 2007 and just by the pictues it looks like a descent hotel. i've read the reviews and other than it being too noisy it looks okay. any input would help!

Might want to consider another location. See link.

Seriously, you can do way better. There are a ton of offsite hotels around DLR that are great because you can walk to the parks.

It's a new hotel--they renovated what used to be a Holiday Inn or something. I haven't stayed there, but it does look cool, and worth a try. It's one of the few hotels around there that's made some sort of effort to be cutting edge and not just average.

It's a little of a hike to the parks, but I think you CAN walk--there's a pedestrian area on the road over the freeway. It would probably take about 15-20 minutes.

I agree, it looks cutting edge....but i remember a couple of posters mentioning that they ended up driving every day when they stayed there.

Unless we could confirm the walk is easy or straightforward, I'd be reluctant to recommend the property to a DLR newbie family (especially considering the 8-10 quality properties that are an easy 6-8 minute walk from the front gates).

Might be cool for a couple doing an overnight....but not for a family with kiddos coming cross country for a week. (imo)

I've visited it, but not stayed there. I did go in a room on the 4th floor, and the windows did nothing to block out the freeway noise. In my personal opinion it seemed pretty loud.

However, they have a very nice pool area and nice pool bar with a mist screen & you can see the fireworks from there.

They also have a highly rated restaurant and "interesting" business center. It's all red in there.

Oh, I agree, then. I didn't realize this was a bring the kids trip. It looks more like an adult hotel.:thumbsup2

Yeah, after studying the map of all the hotels around DL, i am now leaning towards one we can walk from. we are not picky about our hotels, cause we are only sleeping there. we are going to DL for 3 days and then touring hollywood, and all the other themeparks with grayline bus tours. we are getting so excited!!:cool1:
