Hotel Jazz in Barcelona (family room)

We are a family of 4 (kids are 14 and 8...ie, one is adult size). We have reserved the family room with the pull out sofa sleeper. For those that have stayed in this type of room before, how comfortable and how big is the sofa sleeper? Is it a double bed size or larger? Is it the typical sofa sleeper where you can hear and feel the springs or is it more like a memory foam mattress?
Alternatively, we could do two double twin bed rooms, but there are no connecting rooms, so and adult and kids in each room. If we went with this option, how safe did the hotel seem?

We stayed there last year and booked again for this May. The family rooms are on the corners and lovely and spacious (especially after sharing a cabin for a week!) My sister also had a family room and her room was bigger than ours with a divider between the bed and sofa bed like in the photos on the website as opposed to at the bottom of the bed in ours. I can’t remember details of the sofa bed but it was comfortable for our tall 12 and 10. We felt safe in the room and roof terrace because you had to scan your room key to operate the lift.

We stayed at Hotel Jazz before our cruise in 2018. I can't speak to the family rooms since it was just my daughter and myself but we enjoyed the hotel and I would stay there again. We felt safe there and the area around the hotel felt safe to me. If you do stay I recommend getting breakfast at the hotel. We thought it was pretty good an convenient.

DW and I usually book a family room when we can get one, since the extra space is nice even for just the two of us. I cannot speak to the comfort of the sofa bed, but always felt very safe in the hotel and surrounding area.

With regard to the breakfast, we discovered that you can pay out of pocket for this if you did not book the room with breakfast included. We are doing this in July, since my DW seldom eats breakfast so paying for both of us as part of the room booking was more expensive. I was quoted 12€ for one person to do the breakfast buffet (subject to change, but I would not expect too great an increase between the time we booked the room and when we will be there).

My family of 4 stayed here last summer. The pull out sofa (behind the wall partition) is pretty comfy. Her and I (she was 13) both slept on it with no problems. I think you will be happy with the room... and hotel.
