Hotel info?

We are traveling to Florida in May. We will fly in and out of Tampa but plan on driving down to WDW for a few days inbetween. We have never stayed in Tampa before. We are in need of recommendations for nice hotels in nice areas. We would love to stay near or on the beach. I plan on booking a moderate priced hotel. I will book that now and then when it's closer to travel dates, I will try my luck w/ Priceline to see if I can get a luxury hotel for the same $. If it helps to know, it will be my dh, our girls (3 & 6 yo) and myself. I appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks!

I can't help with Tampa hotels however I've had a lot of success using http://tripadvisor.com as a guide when looking for a hotel.
