we're considering spending one night in the clearwater area during our WDW stay

we're looking for a nice but cheap hotel, preferably on the beach.
Price will definitely be an issue since we will already be paying for our WDW resort room for that same night.
I would set my upper limit to £65 for the night ( most probably sunday oct 21st 1 night 2 adults/1 kid)

We are already tempted by the pelican pointe hotel in clearwater, gulf view for $99+tax, but we are open to thoughts and suggestions.

thanks

thanks Wayne
I checked monarch, great deal compared to all other sites, but it seems it's limited to UK residents
Seems I can't get a french zip code for the adress, so it won't let me book

best price I could find was £89, a bit over my budget, especially since we were set on gulf view (and this goes up to £140)

Difficult then if you can't book on UK sites, not sure about Alpharooms.com, a few years back we found some great prices that many Americans could book, not sure if they still allow it. They have a Gulf View room at pelican pointe for £62.99, only £7 cheaper than $99+tax but they might have something else better.
We have endless hotel discounters but doubt many allow booking from abroad.

I am looking at 10 nights at Fairfield Inn, Marriott Village from 31st Oct, direct with Marriott including 20% discount they want $1,104.75 (£700) found a UK agent at £320, massive difference.

The Magnuson Hotel is an inexpensive hotel with some great accommodations. Also check out the Beachview Inn. Also if you go during peak season, March through May, you will pay the most. The off season is November through December. Enjoy your stay!

Thank you, but we came back 2.5 months ago :)

Anyway I'll keep this for future reference, thanks
