Hotel HIFS!

I LOVED IT! We stayed at HIFS and it was so nice. The hotel was clean and friendly. The breakfast buffet was good and was a great way to start for the day. The hotel's room is roomy. My three like the bunks and the cot that came out of the wall was great for my son.
I had taken dalamation beach ball... characters and kites and disney things and surprised my kids by decorating the room while they went swimming.
Had disney magic with just a little change of pillow cases (mickey and pooh) and mickey kites and removable stickers for the tub! I got mickey shampoo and dalmation soap. well you get the idea. The kids loved the Kareokee at night and the help was sooo friendly. We already plan on returning next year just makes a laid back atmosphere.

At last someone is mentioning the HIFS! We aren't going until Oct 2002, so I didn't make alot of inquiries about it yet on the boards....

First off, what a wonderful idea you had about giving the place a Disney feel, I think I'll do that for mine...

This a great location I hear to be staying outside WDW. We'll be renting a car to go to UFS & SW and for other ventures.

I keep jumping back and forth from ASMu to HIFS. I'd like to stay onsite, but we have heard that the rooms at the ASMu are very tiny. I like the idea of the kidsuites which gives us some privacy and makes the kids happy staying in bunk beds in their own themed room. Also love the fact that HIFS has a microwave and mini fridge. I'd rather spend a little more for comfort, convenience and stay right outside WDW.

Anything you can add to assure me that HIFS is THE place to stay for first timers with kids ages 4 & 10 will be greatly appreciated by you and anyone else reading this who have first hand knowledge. I'd appreciate this very much!

I must tell you that we also depabated cause of all the talk of onsite offsite debate... but I will tell you there was NO comparisson! WE went over to allstars to look around and hit seemed very dark not lit the best at night and the hotel windows looked like motel 6. I know a lot of people like them and I do not want to offend but If you have the money than stay somewhere else. You can tour the allstars and get pictures with the BIG woody and such but HIFS offered us peace of mind and quiet setting. My kids are 13, 12 and 10 and after going to allstars said how much they appreciated that I had done my research and picked HIFS. Best Mom's day present I could have was them all thanking me for all the reading of these boards and all the research I had done!inkbounc

I totally agree.

I stayed at the HIFS in January for my son's 8th birthday. It was our 4th trip to Orlando in a year and a half and by far the best!

The HIFS is a perfect hotel IMHO. The separate rooms, the separate TVs (3!) , the free buffet, the theming, the location... classic. I enjoyed all five days we were there and my son didn't want to leave. My sister came down from Thursday to Saturday and was taken away by this place. She was particularly thrilled with the breakfast buffet, which she talks about till this day.

It is an incredible alternative to onsite, probably the best Orlando has to offer in the way of value. I recommend it highly!

thank you both ladies, this sounds like just what we are looking for...I think our vacation will still be "magical" and just as exciting for us, even though we won't be onsite. I haven't seen many posts about HIFS (probably because it's a DISNEY board huh? LOL!) so I'm thrilled to have you're responses to it, really appreciate you're time....

and vmkids - how sweet of you're kids to tell you how much they appreciated you're effort in ensuring a great vacation! that would have made my day too...
