Hotel Help

Going to Disney's Wide World of Sports in June, what inexpensive hotels do you recommend? I understand that Sports is located near Maingate West (on a map it looks like it is on the other side of MGM)

Also anyone ever been to the Sports Complex?

There are two hotels along 192 West where I have stayed in the past - Holiday Inn Hotel Nikki Bird (the nearest) and Days Inn Maingate. There were a lot of road works on the 192 last year which I believe should be finished now which make both of these hotels a good bet. Should only be about 10-15 ride away. I have also stayed at the Sheraton Four Points (I think this may have recently changed its name to La Quinta Four Points or La Quinta Lakeside), again near but a little more expensive.

I've never been to the sports complex so I can't help on that I'm afraid.

I just got back and we stayed at the Howard Johnson Main gate East. It is very cheap. So cheap that I was very afraid of what it would be like. But it was pretty good. No frills. A clean bed and hot shower, good TV, and warm pool. It's only about 10-15 minutes away from WDW.

We were at a Fencing Tournament in October held at the WWof S. The venue was very nice. They don't have alot of good food choices for athletes and they didn't have any chairs to sit around the stips. My son liked the tournament but we had only been to a few others before that. They had a large viewing area located above the strips but you can't really watch fencing from that distance. There was a track and field comp being held at the same time, outside. If you have specific questions feel free to email me.
