Notting hill was on my nieces list of things to see in London. Is there anything there to see?
Not sure about Notting Hill to be honest. Nearest I've been to it is the film
Paris can be done easily and is only a few hours away by train.
However it would be just one thing to tick off a list as you won;t get to see a lot of it and would probably be wishing you could spend longer there.
Or you could head to Reims. Home of Champagne if that is your thing. It is only 40 minutes outside Paris and you may enjoy it more.
As has been mentioned, so much to see in Britain.
If you want to stay localish to London, then you can get a train to Windsor. It is a lovely old town. See the Castle. Stroll down the Thames to Eton as well, take a nice walk in the Great Park.
Further afield from London is Stratford upon Avon, home of Shakespear.
The Lake Districk is further north still but is a fantastic place and home of Beatrice Potter. Even further North is Edinburgh.
However like lots of large cities, you will not see everything that you would possibly want to as London is a huge place.
Regarding Grosvenor Square. You are right near Hyde Park and across the park from Harrods, near Buckingham Palace, Oxford Street for the shops. Picadilly for the Fortumn and Masons and other shops. Bond Street for all the designer shops. A tiny bit further along is Regent Street, Picadilly Square, Leicester Square, China Town, Soho and Covent Garden.
So yep plenty of places
