Hello people.......long time no see:rotfl2:

anyhoo...Mrs stonfiesta mentions last night that if we decided to stay at the "other" hotels we would be able to do it a lot cheaper....you know the ones i mean....kyriad etc...

Anyway, when we go to DLP i want everything to be disney-themed, thats why before we have always stayed in the Santa Fe or higher. I love everything about the disney hotels, the feeling i get when we get there, the way they look, the food halls, and the distance to the parks and village.

Now heres my question.

Does anyone think that staying in the "other" hotels would take away some of that Disney magic the i love so much?

Is there anything we would miss out on buy staying in another hotel? like missing extra extra hours or that kind of thing that is special to Disney hotel guests?

Thanks for any help.:thumbsup2

We've only ever stayed at the Explorers and we don't feel that we miss out on the magic at all. Whether we would feel differently after staying in a Disney one, I don't know. :confused3

If you and Mrs S were to buy Dream annual passes you would then qualify for EMH plus you would get discounts on food and shopping. :yay:

We also always stay at the Explorers as their prices allow us to stay longer so more time in the park. We have Dream passes so can use the EMHs.

The Explorers has a Disney Store so you have a little bit of magic there. The kids love the pool as well so even if I said lets stay at a Disney Hotel I would probably have a fight on my hands :lmao:

We have only every stayed offsite as we would rather have more days of "Disney magic" in the parks than less days staying at a Disney hotel.
We have stayed at both Holiday Inn and Explorers and both hotels are well themed, well equipped and with pools (if there’s time)
To be quite honest by the time we get back to the hotel at 9ish at night I don't know what we would be missing (still a Disney shop at the offsite hotels etc) I suppose the main different is characters at breakfast etc but we always have a character meals so never feel we miss out.
I also think the hotels just off site are slightly better quality than the cheaper Disney ones.
So I can honestly say I don't feel we miss out staying offsite but if money was no issue of course we would stay at the Disneyland hotel and love every minute of it!;) ;)

Thanks for the replies......we are thinking about getting the annual passes but not sure yet....need to work things out first.

We have also stayed at Santa Fe and Explorers and didnt feel we were away from Disney when we were at Explorers. It was so cheap compared to Santa Fe and had a great pool for DD. I think the theming helps. We are staying at Holiday Inn next time and get the impression this will be similar.
We are intending getting annual passes so will still get EMH. The only thing we wont be able to get is GMF but we've booked without breakfast so will hit the parks early and then get a later breakfast in the park when the crowds build up

:dance3: :dance3:

We have stayed in the Holiday Inn and while staying on site is better IMHO you are not far from the magic.
Regular shuttle means the Village and the Parks are only a stones throw away:goodvibes

Hello,

Just got back from Disneyland and Kyriad Hotel.

I can tell you that you'll enjoy the lower prices at Kyriad
Hotel, since the rooms have a safe in them. You make up
your own code and place your important belongings there.

There is also a Disney Store, as well. It's a nice hotel with
a lobby and bar. You stay in other buildings (that's a possibility)
and there is a seperate building in the middle for you breakfast
(which is larger than your traditional breakfast) and some good
dinner, as well.

You won't have any of the characters or a meet with them, but
you'll save your money for other important things your kids will
want to have. You'll have the ability to do more at the park, too!

I recommend this hotel for budgeting.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for our last visit and found it very nice. This time are staying at the Kyriad, so we hope to be able to agree with Jazzman!!
