alrighty so my family is going to disneyland (trip #30) in two weeks and we are having issues of where to stay. (we decided that we would go less than 20 minutes ago; normally we book a few months in advance)

Ive compared prices and locations and availibility and have narrowed it down to 5 choices. please give feedback on these and help us make our decision.

1) Anabella Hotel
2) Castle Inn and Suites (this is our 1st choice right now because we would get a concierge room)
3) Desert Palms Hotel and Suites
4) Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel
5) Hilton Anaheim and Towers

We have a family of five, with kids 14(me), 11, and 7. Plus two adults. So the hotel needs to be family friendly.
Our top two as of right now are the anabella and the castle inn and suites

thankss

I've never stayed anywhere down there.

But I've heard very good things about the Howard Johnson's, and when we go in Sept, we are staying at the Carousel. With maybe a day before and after at HoJo, because I think our planned trip will be too short and want to stay longer. :)

I have stayed at the Candy Cane Inn and the DL Hotel so I am unable to comment on your list.

Drew

PS but I would recommend the CCI if available

With young Children location is everything, Desert Inn is very close, we have stayed at the Carousel Inn which is also close. It was great to be able to come out for a rest at lunch time and not have to worry about shuttles etc.

Not familiar with all of your choices. I would pick the Hilton but I've heard good things about Howard Johnson's too.

The original poster wrote that they could get into the Desert Palms, not the Desert Inn. Both are owned by the same company, but the DP is a bit farther to walk than the DI.

We almost always stay at the DI, and it is a decent basic place for a good price with *great* location. You might want to check there too, especially if you have a party of five.

A good friend of mine just stayed at the Anabella and thought very highly of it. It's by the convention center, basically across the street from the backside of California Adventure.

I've know people who really like the Howard Johnson's, and that's their top choice of places to stay when going to DL. It's just "that" much farther to walk, which makes a huge difference to me by the end of a day at DL (and not so convenient to run back to for naps, picking up a jacket, etc.)

Hope I'm not too late. I've stayed at all the listed properties. HoJo's, by far, has been the best of the 5. The room will fit 5 and we've never had a problem getting a rollaway.

At 14, you'll enjoy the pools as will your siblings.

Good luck!
