Help! I have booked to stay at All stars resort now i am having second thoughts and thinking of going to the travel agency and changing resorts to a moderate one. I just feel a bit uneasy with my orginal choice. What does every one think?

If you have children I think they'll enjoy the icons etc. But it is a very big, busy resort and can be quite noisy, so if you're concerned about that, then I would recommend POFQ.

Thank you, that is my main concern. My daughter is only four and will be happy with anything as long as there is a pool. I did like the look of POFQ.

Hi wideeyes

We have stayed at the All Star Movies x 1 and All Star Sports x 4 and we loved them. There are two pools at each resort, a big main pool and a quieter one. What seems to be worrying you ? let us know and we'll try to help :)

Hi wideeyes

Even though we've only stayed on-site once (at Pop Century), we really enjoyed it. We didn't use the pools at all while we were there but they never seemed to be really, really busy (was September though so a quieter time of year). I would say the value resorts are probably the best for theming for kids and Pop Century was perfectly adequate for us.

As Mandy said, if you tell us your concerns we may be able to help a bit more :)

I feel that the facillities are a bit limited. I've read reviews which have said that the hotel is fine if your just looking for some where to stay. However as I have a young child , we do tend to spend more time at the hotel in the afternoon. It only cost £160 more to upgrade so its not a massive difference in price. I would also prefer to have an onsite full service resturant on site.

POFQ does not have a full service restaurant, but you can walk or take the boat to Boatwrights at Riverside or Downtown Disney where there are lots of dining choices. We stayed at POFQ last summer and loved it, but we wanted to try ASMo next time. You are free to take Disney transport to any resort to dine in the restaurants.

I don't think you will go wrong either way, all the resorts have something to recommend them, but I think the All Stars are great for kids.

I've not stayed at the All Star Resorts before - but the moderate ones are v nice - especially both Port Orleans ones. For that amount of money an upgrade will definitely be worth it. You will have slightly larger rooms, a more relaxed theming, a sit down restaurant, and a pool slide. Plus, if you stay at one of the Port Orleans Resorts, you will also have the boat ride to downtown disney.

I think you will love it whichever one you stay at. The convenience of staying on-site is so worth it. But, with small children it is best to take a break at your resort in the afternoon, so you may use the amenities of a moderate more.

Have fun planning your first trip - these boards are a wonderful resource. When are you going to WDW?

Plus POFQ has a great pool slide.

Hi thanks for all your advice. I have decieded that we will go to POFQ. Mainly for all the reasons given by Cinderella and i am sure my dd will love the boat ride to DTD. I also like that DTD is so close so we have more dining choices nearby.

We are going september 15th for 1 week.

POFQ is a beautiful resort, it is muc quieter, the pool looks nice, andnif you want to spend time at the resort the landscaping is more relaxing.

Great choice - the slide there is excellent. I know there are lots of pictures of the resort on www.wdwig.com, and you will also find a heap of info on the resorts board right here on dis.

I have stayed there before and it was very nice - and transportation was excellent.
