Hotel help for San Diego

We plan to do the Zoo, Sea World and hit Universal on our way to Anaheim. Any hotel suggestions that are reasonably priced and kinda nice near both the Zoo and Seaworld? A free breakfast would be awesome too!

We are going to San Diego for the very first time and staying at Best Western Island Palms on Shelter Island. I can't tell you if I recommend it yet, but maybe someone will chime in here and help us both! I am paying about $200 a night for a junior suite. No free breakfast though.

If you search for an area called "Hotel Circle" you will find hotels ranging from budget (Super 8, Rodeway) up to a resort and everything in-between. It is also about 1/2 way between the Zoo and Seaworld. There are also 2 malls within short distances in case you need anything.

We are staying in the area called "hotel circle" for springbreak. It looked close to everything; walking distance to dinner. We booked the Ramada Plaza San Diego Hotel Circle. It is nothing fancy at all; but got great reviews and comes with breakfast. Did'nt need fancy this trip. $226 for 3 nights with a king sized bed. 2 queen beds were only a couple more dollars a night.

I really liked staying at Seaport village at the Embassy Suites. 10 minutes to the zoo or sea world, and walk over to Seaport Village (carrousel, cute shops and restaurants).

We like to stay at the Holiday Inn Bayside on Harbor blvd. about 3 or 4 miles from Seaworld or the Zoo. Nice hotel. Book using the Entertainmenet Card rate and should get $65-$75/night.

Note that Universal is not on the way from San Diego to Anaheim. It is another 40 miles to the north. Did you mean Legoland which is on the way?
