Hotel Guest EMH Question

We will have EMH to DCA on 10/1 while we're there. However 1 member of our party is not staying onsite (our GCH room is part of a prize package). Can that member enter early with us? Do all of our party members need to have a hotel key (there will be 5 of us)? Does she need to buy something from GCH to get in? I just don't want my mom to miss out on anything because she couldn't join us.

When we were there last week we were required to show room keys for as many people were entering with us. We used the main gates each time we entered (not the GCH one as it isn't very fast in the am). We stayed 8 days and did early entry for 5 of them. Interestingly, only at DCA did they ask to see them. The 2 times we did DL early entry there weren't many of us (everyone at DCA it seemed).

We had someone locally (from LA) come up to stay with us for a day (she has an AP) and we added her to our room the entire stay so that one day she could enter with us (even though she only stayed in our room 1 night).

If you can't add your mom to the room then I'm afraid you are out of luck for DCA. If you did DL early entry you could all go together as long as she has a 3 or more day hopper.

Sounds like YMMV. With our family of four, we were fine entering DCA for EMH (twice over Labor Day weekend) with just one room key. I had one in my pocket but when my husband showed his they were satisfied and we were on our way. I agree with the PP - add your Mom to your room when you check in if you can. If not, I imagine if 4 of 5 people have keys that should do it for the group.

Buying something at GCH won't do any good - I think there is talk about being allowed to use the GCH entrance if you ate at WWS or SC, but even if that is the case, it won't help you for EMH - you have to be actually staying at the hotel to get in for that.
