Since most of the travel that DH and I do does not include flights, we belong to quite a few membership programs from different hotel's. Here are 3 of the ones we use most, for those of you interested. A lot of them offer Frequent Flyer Miles etc...

Marriot Rewards

This includes, Marriot, and Courtyard hotels.

Choice Hotels

This includes, Comfort Inn, Sleep Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality Suites, Clarion, Main Stay Suites

and lastly-

Six Continent Hotels

This includes, Holiday Inn, Holiday Suites, Holiday Inn Express, Inter-Continental, Staybridge, and Crowne Plaza

If this post belongs elsewhere, please move it.

I hope someone can use these rewards programs. DH and I end up with at least 3 long weekend trips with free rooms each year.

TripRewards - Multi-Chain - New Program

This NEW program encompasses AmeriHost Inn, Days Inn, Howard Johnsons, Knights Inn, Ramada, Super 8, Travelodge, Villager and Wingate Inn. I don't know if it replaces the VIP card for Super 8 or not, but the most that ever gave us was 10% off which we could get with AAA or just about anything!

As a follow-up to Marriott - It includes, Fairfield, Residence, etc - all their properties.

Hiltonhhonors

Encompasses Hilton, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites, Scandic, Conrad Hotels, Hilton Grand Vacations Club.

Starwood Preferred Guest

Sheraton, Westin, Four Points, St Regis, W, The Luxury Collection.
Membership here can often get you an upgraded room at check-in if available. You can upgrade your membership by extra stays (as with most any program) or by owning stock, certain types of credit cards etc. There is a Starwood thread in the Disney Resorts section (also a Swan/Dolphin thread - they are Starwood properties).

We also belong to Marriott and Holiday Inn. Even better, we got a Marriot Rewards VISA and charge everything we possibly can. We've already redeemed 5 free hotel nites in less than 2 years and have plenty of points left over for future vacations.

I got an email from NWA that you can earn NWA frequent flyer miles for your stay at participating Starwood hotels in the U.S. & Canada through July 31, 2004. You can earn 1000 total miles for your first stay, 2000 total miles for your second stay, and 3000 total miles for your third stay. After your third stay, you'll receive two certificates for 50% off at any participating Starwood hotel or resort worldwide throughout 2004. I did not see anywhere that you actually have to fly NWA to participate.
